Lotus has launched its flagship version of the Emira two-door sports car in the UAE through AGMC as its official partner in the region. The new Lotus Emira 420 Sport is the most powerful four-cylinder turbocharged petrol sports car in the world, with an ability to achieve 300 km/h of top speed.

Lotus Emira 420 Sport: Engine specs and performance

Lotus Emira 420 Sport

Speaking of the specifications, the Emira 420 Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo engine. It is a mid-engined sports car that makes 416 bhp and 500 Nm of power and torque.

This power is delivered to the rear wheels by an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With the help of a specially designed chassis and active technical parts like the dampers, the Emira 420 Sport can do 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Moreover, the Emira 420 Sport can do 0-200 km/h in just 12.47 seconds, and it can complete a quarter-mile race in just 11.91 seconds. These figures are further escalated by 300 km/h of top speed.

Technical upgrades

To achieve these figures, Lotus engineers have reduced the weight of the Emira 420 Sport by 25 kg in comparison to the standard Emira. This has been achieved by a redesigned chassis that offers more rigidity, agility, and better handling.

With the improved body control, the ride height has been reduced by 5 mm, which brings the centre of gravity lower, ultimately offering better control and more aerodynamic stability. Additionally, it features Multimatic adjustable dampers that offer compression and rebound adjustment as part of the optional Lotus Lightweight Handling Package.

This optional package also includes a full titanium exhaust system, a carbon-fibre tailgate, a lithium-ion battery, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 sticky tyres, and the Lotus Pro app to monitor the track performance.

Aerodynamic improvements

Lotus engineers have gone one step further with the aero improvements. The Lotus Emira 420 Sport features a new front bumper splitter, extended side skirts, wheel arch vents, bigger side air intakes, and an extended rear lip spoiler.

These changes add 25 kg more downforce as compared to the standard version. Additionally, the airflow has improved by 15 percent, while the airflow through exhaust valves has improved by 30 percent, providing more cooling. An optional track package offers more cooling for the radiator and the brake rotors.

Visual updates

Visually, the Lotus Emira 420 Sport looks identical to the standard version. However, it now gets a new exclusive Tangelo Orange exterior paint option, new 20-inch 15-spoke forged alloy wheels finished in Satin Black colour, and several customisation options.

As part of an optional Carbon Fibre Pack, the front splitter, side skirts, wheel arch air vents, side air ducts, and spoiler come finished with carbon fibre parts. Moreover, customers can opt for custom brake calipers, wheel colours, paint options, and more.

Interior changes
