Chinese electric carmaker XPENG has introduced a new ‘AI-defined’ P7+ electric sedan in the Middle East, starting at a price of AED 164,000. The XPENG P7+ electric fastback promises a lightning-fast charging speed and a sports car-like performance along with a luxurious cabin experience.
XPENG P7+: Battery specs, range, performance, charging
The all-new XPENG P7+ smart electric sedan is powered by an 800V silicon carbide (SiC) architecture and features an 86.2 kWh LFP battery pack. This setup offers a maximum range of up to 530 km (WLTP-claimed). Meanwhile, the FWD version can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
It gets the latest 5C technology that can charge it from 10-80% in just 12 minutes, adding more than 400 km of range. This is one of the fastest in the segment. Customers can also choose an all-wheel drive version, and the maximum power output ranges from 308-496 bhp, depending on the trim chosen.
The XPENG P7+ comes with a massive boot space of 573 litres, which can be expanded up to 1,931 litres by folding the rear seats.
XPENG P7+: UAE price and availability
The new P7+ electric car is available in the UAE from AED 164,000-174,900 for the entry-level variants. The range-topping Performance variants are positioned around AED 189,900-215,900, all exclusive of the 5% VAT.
The new XPENG P7+ is available in the UAE through Gulf Star Motors. There are two XPENG dealerships in the UAE: Sheikh Zayed Road (Dubai) and Al Meena Road (Abu Dhabi).
Exterior design
The XPENG P7+ is a fastback cruiser that features a sleek and aerodynamic design with futuristic elements like the sharp connected LED headlights and taillights, aerodynamic alloy wheels, a boot-integrated spoiler, etc. It offers a low coefficient of drag of 0.26 Cd, which makes it one of the most aerodynamic electric vehicles around the world.
The P7+ measures 5,071 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,512 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, which offers a spacious interior design and passenger comfort. Customers in the UAE can choose from four exterior paint options that are matched with a contrasting black roof and mirrors.
Interior design and features
The cabin design of the XPENG P7+ boasts a rich and premium outlook with high-grade materials and futuristic design. The overall cabin is minimal and features a two-spoke steering wheel, a stepped dashboard, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, an 8-inch rear infotainment screen, and a five-seater layout.
Both front and rear seats come with ventilation, heating, and massaging, while the Nappa leather upholstery is used all around. The P7+ also gets multi-zone climate control, wireless charging, mood lighting, a panoramic glass roof, an electric tailgate, and more.
The safety features of the P7+ include a suite of autonomous driving aids, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, pedestrian collision avoidance, high-beam assist, traffic sign recognition, and rear-cross traffic alert.
