Chinese electric carmaker XPENG has introduced its first seven-seater model in the Middle East. Called XPENG X9, the new EV is now available from a starting price of AED 297,000, offering a WLTP range of 615 km.

Exterior, platform, and dimensions
The X9 electric MPV is based on an 800V architecture, which allows XPENG to offer active rear-wheel steering technology. The latter reduces the turning radius to only 5.4 metres, which makes it impressively easy to drive in the city.
The X9 features a futuristic and sleek design language. It packs steeply raked windshields along a straight roofline, sleek LED daytime running lights and LED headlights, dual-tone aerodynamic alloy wheels, flush door handles, and a sliding rear door for second- and third-row passengers.

Interior design and features
The interior of the Xpeng X9 features a flat floor, which accommodates seven passengers easily. Customers can also opt for 2+2+2 seating configuration with captain seats. Xpeng claims that the X9 offer 7.7 square-metre cabin space, which is largest in the segment.
Meanwhile, its second-row features the Zero Gravity rotating seats. This offers more comfort on long journeys. The overall interior of the X9 features soft-touch materials, a dual-tone theme, and minimal design.

The new Xpeng X9 is available in the UAE from AED 297,000 (exclusive of VAT). It is retailed by Ali & Sons as the official distributor of the Xpeng in the Emirates.
