Nissan has launched its new Toyota Hilux rival in the Chinese market, called Frontier Pro. The new Nissan Frontier Pro pickup is exclusively made for China, but it will be exported to other countries, including the UAE. Read its complete details below.

Nissan Frontier Pro price and availability

 

 

The new Frontier Pro pickup truck is Nissan’s first-ever product that has been entirely designed, tested, and manufactured in China, in partnership with Zengzhou. In fact, it is going to be on sale in China initially, before marking its international debut.

 

As far as the prices are concerned, the new Frontier Pro is available in two variants, which are positioned as below:

 

  • Frontier Pro - 23,800-27,600 USD (AED 87,400 to AED 101,361 approx)
  • Frontier Pro PHEV - 26,600-35,000 USD (AED 97,688 to AED 128,537 approx)

 

Design and dimensions

The new Frontier Pro has been carefully designed around a ladder-frame chassis, which gives it enhanced durability and utility. It features a modern design language, which is slightly different from the international design language of the brand.

 

The overall boxy shape is highlighted with the modern front fascia with the vertical LED lights, a three horizontal slat grille with a big skid plate, and an upright bonnet.

On the side, it features the 17-inch black alloys wrapped in all-terrain tyres. At the rear, it features a typical conventional pickup truck styling with a flatbed and vertical LED taillights. Meanwhile, select variants are equipped with an electric tailgate as well.

Being a Chinese-specific vehicle, the Frontier Pro is loaded with tons of modern tech. This includes a plush cabin with leather upholstery, a twin-spoke steering wheel, a five-seater layout with a flat floor design for more legroom, and more.

 

In terms of features, the new-generation Frontier Pro is loaded with the following equipment:

  • 12.3-inch infotainment screen
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Wireless charging
  • Ventilated and heated front seats with massage function (optional)

Engine specs of the new Nissan Frontier Pro

 

2026 Nissan Frontier Pro

 

Nissan is offering the Frontier Pro with a variety of engine options. These include a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, offering 258 bhp and 400 Nm torque. Chinese customers also get a 2.3-litre turbo diesel engine, offering 190 bhp and 500 Nm torque. Both of these engine options are available with manual or automatic gearbox options.

 

Meanwhile, a new 1.5-litre PHEV engine has been introduced with the Frontier Pro. This unit offers 429 bhp and 800 Nm torque with the help of a front-axle-mounted electric motor and a 4-speed DHT automatic transmission. It can also deliver up to 135 km pure electric range (CLTC-claimed).

 

When will it launch in the UAE?

 

As of now, the Frontier Pro remains on sale exclusively in China. However, Zhengzhou Nissan is planning to export it to the international markets, including the UAE, in 2026.

 

If it is launched in the UAE next year, it will compete against the upcoming Toyota Hilux. The new-gen Hilux was also introduced recently with a PHEV engine, which is set to launch in the UAE next year.
