Geely has introduced the new Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV in the UAE, expanding its electrified vehicle lineup in the region. Officially launched through distributor AGMC, the five-seat SUV is now available for pre-orders across the UAE, with four trim levels on offer.
The new Monjaro EM-i combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with Geely's EM-i Super Hybrid technology. Depending on the variant, buyers can choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The SUV also features a large battery pack, an electric driving range of up to 116km and a claimed combined range of up to 922km under the WLTP cycle.

The Geely Monjaro EM-i is available in four variants in the UAE, with the entry-level MAX FWD starting at AED 130,900. The range extends to AED 149,900 for the Special Edition AWD.
AGMC has opened pre-orders for the SUV, with complimentary window tinting and extended battery coverage included as part of the launch offer.

Geely Monjaro EM-i engine and performance
The Monjaro EM-i uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with Geely's EM-i Super Hybrid system. The powertrain is connected to a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), with front-wheel drive available on the entry-level variant and all-wheel drive offered on the higher specifications.
The AWD version produces up to 330hp and 667Nm of torque. Geely claims a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.83 seconds, making it a performance-focused option in the plug-in hybrid SUV segment.

Electric range and battery specifications
One of the main highlights of the Monjaro EM-i is its 29.8kWh battery pack. According to the published WLTP figures, the SUV offers an electric-only driving range of up to 116km, depending on the configuration.
The combined driving range is rated at up to 922km under the WLTP cycle. The battery supports fast charging, allowing it to recharge from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes.
The SUV also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, with an output of up to 6.6kW. This allows the vehicle's battery to supply power to compatible external electrical equipment.

Exterior design and practical dimensions
The Geely Monjaro EM-i measures 4,800mm in length and features a 2,845mm wheelbase. Its exterior design includes a vertically styled front grille, distinctive blue electric lighting elements and a full-width rear light bar incorporating 175 LEDs.
Practicality is another focus of the SUV. It offers 633 litres of luggage capacity behind the second row, which increases to 2,183 litres when the rear seats are folded.
The front passenger seat can also fold completely flat, allowing the SUV to accommodate longer items measuring up to 2.8 metres. Geely has additionally integrated a full-size spare wheel beneath the floor without reducing the available boot space.
Premium cabin with Flyme Auto technology
Inside, the Monjaro EM-i features a technology-focused dashboard with a 15.4-inch central touchscreen running Geely's Flyme Auto infotainment software. The driver gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while a 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display provides driving information within the driver's field of view.
The SUV also comes with a 16-speaker audio system, including dedicated speakers integrated into the driver's headrest.
Comfort features include 11-layer front seats with massage, heating, ventilation and two-position memory functions. These features are intended to make the cabin more comfortable for everyday commuting and longer journeys.
Driver assistance and safety features
The Geely Monjaro EM-i comes with a Level 2 driver-assistance package featuring 17 advanced driver-assistance functions. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and autonomous emergency braking.
The SUV also features Continuous Damping Control (CCD) suspension, which adjusts damping according to driving conditions. The system operates across Comfort, Standard and Sport driving modes.
Other safety-related equipment includes a reinforced high-strength steel passenger cell, a Bosch One Box braking system and Geely's battery protection technology. The SUV also gets front and rear 12V power outlets alongside its vehicle-to-load functionality.
Geely Monjaro EM-i UAE warranty and launch offer
As part of the UAE launch, AGMC is offering an eight-year or 200,000km warranty for the high-voltage power battery, driving motor and motor controller. Complimentary window tinting and extended factory battery coverage are also included in the launch promotion.
The warranty coverage and charging capabilities could be relevant considerations for buyers moving from conventional petrol SUVs to plug-in hybrid vehicles. However, actual electric range and fuel consumption will depend on driving conditions, charging frequency and the selected variant.
