As part of its “Twelve of Twelve” initiative, Jeep introduces a new special edition of the Wrangler on the 12th of each month. This month, the new Jeep Wrangler Sarge has broken cover with its military roots that pay tribute to the original Willys MB military jeep used during World War II.

Unlike other special editions, the Wrangler Sarge not only packs the cosmetic changes and special colours, but it also gets technical changes that place it closer to the original war jeep. These technical changes offer functional off-road components that make it more practical for rugged use.

What are the design changes on the Jeep Wrangler Sarge?

Jeep Wrangler Sarge Design

Visually, the Wrangler Sarge gets the special dual-tone exterior colour theme inspired by the original 1941 Jeep Willys MB military jeep. Its unique design is accentuated by the new ‘41 Green models that feature a bright white coloured top and front grille. Meanwhile, the ‘41 Green front grille and hardtop are featured on other colourways like Black, Bright White, and Granite Crystal.

The colour combination changes as per the variant chosen. Meanwhile, other changes include the 1941 centre hood decal, military-inspired decals on the doors, bronze tow hooks, ‘41 Green coloured 17-inch wheels, steel Rubicon roof rails, and body-coloured fender flares.

What has changed on the inside?

Jeep Wrangler Sarge Interior

While the cabin layout of the Wrangler Sarge is similar to the standard Wrangler, it gets a host of new materials and colour updates to make it feel like a proper nostalgic war jeep. Customers can choose from two cabin themes: Cattle Tan and Drab Green.

To match these themes, the Wrangler Sarge features “Soul Seats”, which embody a unique fabric that matches the ‘41 Green exterior theme. Meanwhile, the complete cabin experience is elevated by the use of the Mayan Gold stitching, 1941 cupholder plate, a star medallion on the gear lever, seven-slot motifs on the AC vents, and a rear swing gate plaque.

Variants of the Jeep Wrangler Sarge

Jeep has introduced the Sarge custom theme for the Wrangler and Rubicon trims. Meanwhile, both trims can be had with the 2-door and 4-door versions.

What are the technical changes on the Jeep Wrangler Sarge?

While the engine specifications of the Wrangler Sarge are the same as the standard Wrangler, Jeep has added the chunky 33-inch BF Goodrich KO2 tyres on the 17-inch rims for extreme off-road grip through slush, mud, sand, and any loose surface.

Meanwhile, the Rubicon version gets more hardcore equipment like the Rock-Trac 4X4 drivetrain, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles, Tru-Lok electronic differentials, electronic sway bar disconnect feature, and more.

The Wrangler Sarge gets powered by two engine options:

  • 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine (272 bhp and 400 Nm) paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox
  • 3.5-litre V6 Pentastar (285 bhp and 352 Nm) paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox
  • An optional 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine making 470 bhp

What is the Jeep Gladiator Sarge?

Alongside the Wrangler Sarge, Jeep has also unveiled a pickup version, which is called the Gladiator Sarge. It has been designed to offer more practicality for farm use or buyers who require frequent luggage ferrying.

The Gladiator Sarge also features the same visual and technical features as the Wrangler Sarge, including the ‘41 Green colour scheme.

When will the Jeep Wrangler Sarge be available?

Jeep has announced that the Wrangler Sarge will go on sale in the US market soon. It will be available in limited numbers. However, the brand has not announced any plans of launching it in the Middle East. The UAE market already gets the standard Jeep Wrangler and Rubicon versions, which are priced from AED 188,000.
