The new G700 SUV has been launched in Dubai at a starting price of AED 149,000. Meanwhile, its top-spec version will cost AED 229,000 (without VAT). The G700 is available in various options, including a hybrid powertrain that offers up to 1,400 km of range on a single fuel tank.
The G700 has a boxy design that offers a strong conventional SUV road presence. It features rugged elements like the AT tyres, wheel arch flares, skid plates, LED lights, and roof rails, all of which help in off-roading.
On the inside, it features a luxury cabin layout full of modern technology. The airline-styled seats offer a recline of up to 145 degrees, whilst featuring memory function, ventilation, heating, and massaging options.
The dashboard is loaded with a full-width 35.4-inch console for speedometer and other critical controls. Meanwhile, the 15.6-inch infotainment screen offers the latest Snapdragon processor, intrusive display, and OTA updates.
The G700 is also loaded with Level 2 ADAS safety, along with the features like panoramic sunroof with auto-dimming, ambient lights, three-zone AC, electric tailgate, electric steering adjustment, and more.
The large cargo area is complemented by a 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load outlet, which can power the electrical appliances for camping and adventure purposes.
Engine specs and range
The G700 is based on a ladder-frame platform. This gives it a superior off-road performance as it features the latest generation Kunpeng Hybrid system that is mated to a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
This powertrain is mated to four electric motors on each tyre, which cumulatively put 904 bhp and 1,135 Nm of power and torque, respectively. Meanwhile, with its pure electric range of 138 km, the G700 can do between 800-1,400 km on a single tank of fuel.
The hybrid electric technology of the G700 offers a quick acceleration as well. It can sprint 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The electric motor setup is IP68-rated, while the SUV has been rigorously tested for 4,500 kilometers in the high-altitude desert and extreme regions of China.
Off-road capabilities
The G700 comes equipped with 7 intelligent driving modes, which have been paired with the all-terrain drive system. The key off-road features include:
