Dubai RTA’s advisory on New Year’s Eve 2026
Â
Since residents and visitors will rush towards the hot spots to enjoy the fireworks and celebrations of the New Year, Dubai RTA has rolled out the following advisory for a flawless experience:
Â
- The most important advice to all motorists is to avoid Downtown Dubai. The extreme rush will create long traffic jams, which will result in a cascading effect, and it might also mean you won't be able to witness the New Year’s celebrations.
 - Rely on public transport as Dubai RTA has extensively deployed public transport by extending timings and volume of buses and taxis.
 - The Burj Khalifa Metro Station can be closed as early as 5 PM due to heavy rush. This is subject to the volume of visitors.
 - Visitors must add significant extra travel time to their regular schedule due to the heavy traffic congestion and heavy foot traffic.
