Nissan Magnite Global NCAP crash test explained

Global NCAP, a world-renowned organisation that is known for crash testing all sorts of vehicles, has recently conducted tests on the Magnite SUV.

The small SUV, which is also the most affordable Nissan SUV in the UAE, has emerged as one of the safest vehicles in its category.

In its crash testing evaluation process, the Global NCAP authorities have given the SUV 32.31 points out of 34 points in adult safety.

Meanwhile, in child occupant safety, the new Magnite has scored 33.64 points out of 49 points.

In the crash test report, NCAP has scored the Magnite ‘good’ in driver’s head and neck safety in a frontal impact test. Meanwhile, the driver’s chest showcased good protection against the frontal impact, while the passenger's chest was rated ‘adequate’.

The knees and tibia of the front passengers were rated good for safety in a frontal impact test. 

Similarly, the side impact tests were rated ‘good’ for protecting the head, chest, pelvis, and abdomen of the passengers.

However, in the child safety, the 3-year-old dummy received head injuries, while the 18-month-old dummy was rated safe in the frontal impact.

While the base variant with its standard 2 airbags, ABS, and EBD could score only 2 stars in the crash tests, the top-spec model passed with flying colours.
