What to expect from the 2027 Honda City facelift?

The latest spy shots of the upcoming City facelift have surfaced online just days ahead of its global reveal, which is set to take place on May 22. The test car seen in the spy images has been camouflaged, but the front and rear design is partially visible.
Speaking of its front fascia, the overall design seems to have changed. The test car looks inspired by the Honda Prelude, as it boasts a curvy shape with the new wraparound LED projector headlamps.

Moreover, the front grille is new, and so is the front bumper that appears to have taken a more aerodynamic shape. Additionally, the front windshield holds the new ADAS safety radar module, clarifying that certain markets like the Middle East itself will get the autonomous safety features.
The rear design looks more or less the same as the current version of the car, save for the new LED taillights that look reworked with a sharper outlook and a new rear bumper. Meanwhile, the side profile is unchanged, but the alloy wheels boast a new design on the test car.

This upcoming update is going to be the second facelift of the current-gen City. However, Honda is also working on the next-generation City sedan, which is expected to arrive by late 2028.
What about the interior changes?
The upcoming City facelift is expected to receive a slight overhaul inside the cabin. We assume that it will boast a new, bigger, and more intuitive infotainment system, updated audio system, a new digital instrument console with added features, and comfort-convenience features like wireless charging, ventilated seats, electric seat adjustment, ambient lights, and more.
Will the engine specs change on the Honda City facelift?
Under the bonnet, the City facelift will continue using the current 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. This four-cylinder naturally aspirated motor is one of the most reliable and sturdy engines around the world. It is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and a front-wheel drive configuration.
Honda also sells the City e:HEV or the City Hybrid in certain markets. The City Hybrid uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and a battery pack that powers the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox. This engine will also be shared as it is on the City facelift.
When will the Honda City facelift launch in the UAE?
The new City facelift will be unveiled globally on May 22, 2026. It will be initially introduced in India and other crucial markets. It is expected to arrive in the Middle East by mid-2026.
Cars24 UAE says
The upcoming Honda City facelift will add a fresh flair to the sedan’s design and overall comfort. However, the current model has been present in the market for a long time without any big changes. A new-gen model, perhaps launching in 2028, will revive the City nameplate globally.
