The GLC brand name is the best-selling SUV of Mercedes worldwide. The mid-size luxury SUV is so loved by customers that the company has now built an all-electric version of it.
The upcoming GLC EV is scheduled to debut globally on September 7 at the Munich Motor Show. With its debut, it will also bring a new design flair to the upcoming EV models of Mercedes.
The teaser shows a brand-new front grille on the EV, which is pixelated with 942 digital pixels. These pixels can be tuned for various designs, as per the requirements. Additionally, the Mercedes logo is also illuminated to enhance the front fascia of the SUV.
Mercedes claims that its new front grille is an artwork that takes inspiration from the old 600 Pullman and W108 models. The future EQ electric cars will also get equipped with a similar grille design.
Mercedes engineers have also practised design cohesion with the ICE sibling, which will keep its design identical to the ICE GLC model.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC EV: Battery, range, specs
As per the official details, the new GLC EV has been designed on a brand-new BEV platform. It is an 800V architecture that supports rapid charging of up to 350 kW, adding a range of 260 km in just 10 minutes.
It will be available in two different configurations: single motor and dual motor. The single motor version will offer 272 bhp of power, while the dual-motor version will offer 490 bhp of power.
The range data has not been revealed yet, but the company says it will offer more than 400 miles (643 km) on a full charge.
The GLC EV will come equipped with the trademark 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. A new DCU (disconnect unit) has been fitted to improve the range by disconnecting the front axle.
Braking and battery regeneration have been improved with a new ride-by-wire energy recuperation system.
