Skoda has taken the cover off its latest flagship three-row electric car in the global market. The new Skoda Peaq EV is the second electric car from Skoda to feature its new Modern Solid Design philosophy. Skoda will position the Peaq EV against the flagship rivals like the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQB, and the Audi E-Tron in the international market.
Skoda Peaq EV: Battery specs, range, and performance

The new Peaq EV is based on the MEB platform, which is essentially an 800V platform. This allows Skoda to offer three different battery packs on the Peaq. These are differentiated via three different trims: 60, 90, and 90x.
- Peaq EV 60: 63 kWh battery, rear-wheel drive only, 204 bhp of power, 459 km range, and 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds.
- Peaq EV 90: 91 kWh battery, rear-wheel drive only, 286 bhp of power, 647 km range, and 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
- Peaq 90x: 91 kWh battery, all-wheel drive, 299 bhp of power, 611 km range, and 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
In terms of charging, the 63 kWh battery variants support up to 160 kW DC charging, which adds 10-80 per cent charge in 27 minutes. Meanwhile, the 91 kWh battery variant supports up to 199 kW DC charging, which adds 10-80 per cent charge in 28 minutes.
Exterior design and dimensions of the Skoda Peaq EV

The Peaq EV uses the Modern Solid Design philosophy of the brand, and it is the second car to feature this philosophy after the Skoda Epiq EV. The overall styling is subtle and modern with timeless elements and crossover styling.
The front fascia uses a black-coloured closed grille with segmented LED daytime running lights that merge with the vertical LED headlights. The lower bumper boasts aero dams for airflow and diagonal piano black stripes.
The side profile uses a plain and elegant styling with minimal beltline creases, retractable door handles, and a black glossy stripe running over the wheel arches. The aerodynamic alloy wheels range from 19 inches to 21 inches, depending on the variant opted for.

Meanwhile, the rear design has a rather sporty outlook. It uses a set of T-shaped LED taillights, a streamlined bumper with a black lower half, and a roof-integrated spoiler. The electrically operated tailgate has Skoda lettering on it.

Interior design and features of the Skoda Peaq EV

The cabin design of the Skoda Peaq EV boasts a three-row layout with a seven-seater capability. The interior is draped in a dual-tone theme with leather upholstery, including the leather seats and soft-touch materials on the dashboard and doors.
The dashboard features a sloping design with bronze highlights that match the customisable LED lights. The two-spoke steering wheel is accentuated with a digital driver display and an optional augmented reality head-up display underneath the windscreen.
The big highlight is the all-new 13.6-inch portrait-styled infotainment screen that offers controls for most of the functions of the car. There are physical button controls underneath this screen for AC controls.

Overall, the cabin design speaks of space and luxury. Skoda says that the Peaq EV is its most spacious car to go on sale to date.

When will the Skoda Peaq EV launch?
Skoda is likely to introduce the Peaq EV in the global market in the coming months. Although the Skoda officials have not confirmed the UAE launch, we suspect that the Peaq EV could be introduced in the UAE next year, especially after considering the growing demand for EVs in the region post the US-Iran war.
