What to expect from the 2027 Honda City facelift?

The newly leaked images of the production version of the Honda City facelift have surfaced from India. The Japanese carmaker will debut the new City sedan on May 22.

As visible in the leaked photos, the facelift has undergone a substantial change at the front. The new version now gets a sloping bonnet with the set of new sleek wraparound LED projector headlights that are connected via an LED strip placed under the top of the hood, a new streamlined bumper design, a slim grille with piano black highlight and honeycomb design, and an aggressive overall outlook.

The side profile, meanwhile, has not changed much, save for the new set of dual-tone alloy wheels and the new mirrors with the 360-degree camera setup. However, the rear design now packs the new clear lens LED taillights and a new rear bumper with sporty highlights.

What is new on the inside?

The new City facelift also gets an updated cabin. The dashboard now features a redesigned centre console with a bigger infotainment screen and repositioned AC vents at the centre.

Meanwhile, the digital driver display has also been updated. It is now bigger, and the UI looks identical to the Honda ZR-V. On the other hand, the lower part of the centre console now gets the new AC controls and buttons for the front ventilated seats.

The theme of the cabin is still the same, as it continues using the beige and light coloured panels with black contrast panels. Additionally, the City facelift sedan now gets the new 360-degree camera, lane-assist, and ambient lighting as well.

What about the engine specifications?

Since Honda is already developing the next generation of the City sedan, which is slated to debut globally in 2028, there was no point in changing or updating the current engine specs.

Hence, the 2027 Honda City facelift packs the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as before. It will be offered with a CVT automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission in the global market.

Honda will also offer the City facelift with the 1.5-litre e:HEV or the strong hybrid engine. It is known for high fuel economy and smooth performance.

When will it launch in the UAE?

Honda has a stronghold in the Middle Eastern car market, and the City is one of its popular models. We believe that the updated City facelift will be introduced in the UAE later this year.

The current Honda City is priced at AED 67,900 onwards, and we expect the new model to be positioned in a similar ballpark.

Cars24 UAE says

The upcoming City facelift will not only offer a striking new design but will also add flair to the already outdated sedan. It competes with the Toyota Corolla sedan in the Middle East, and this upcoming update is likely to attract more customers.
