Toyota has officially launched the new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ in the UAE, bringing a compact five-door SUV to the Land Cruiser line-up. Priced from AED 139,900, the new FJ sits below the Land Cruiser 70, Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Hybrid in Toyota UAE’s range.

The 2027 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is offered in EXR and GXR variants, with both versions using a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive.

The new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is available in two UAE variants:

Toyota UAE currently lists the 2027 Land Cruiser FJ in its Land Cruiser range with a starting price of AED 139,900. The launch coverage confirms the EXR at AED 139,900 and GXR at AED 154,900.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ: Engine specs

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is powered by a 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 164 bhp and 245 Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4WD system with H2, H4 and L4 modes.

For off-road driving, both variants get a rear differential lock, Downhill Assist Control and 245mm of ground clearance. Toyota quotes a fuel-efficiency figure of 10.1km/l, while the claimed wading depth is 700mm.

The SUV measures 4,610mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,950mm in height, with a 2,580mm wheelbase. It has five seats and five doors, while maximum cargo capacity is listed at 765 litres. 

Interior and features

Inside, the new Land Cruiser FJ combines a straightforward dashboard layout with modern infotainment and convenience features. Both EXR and GXR variants come with a 7-inch multi-information display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six-speaker audio, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and push-button start are also included.

Other standard equipment includes LED headlamps, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

The GXR adds leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, extra leather trim, LED fog lamps and a panoramic-view monitor.

Safety features

Safety equipment includes airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

The GXR receives additional Toyota Safety Sense features, including a Pre-Collision Safety System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Adaptive High Beam System. 

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ: What makes it different?

The new FJ carries design cues inspired by the classic FJ40, including a boxy body, upright windscreen, squared wheel arches and a horizontal grille with prominent Toyota lettering. The SUV also features square-eye LED headlamps, roof rails and a rear-mounted spare wheel. Depending on the variant, it gets 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels.

Toyota has also used a three-piece front bumper, with individual sections designed to be replaceable after minor damage. This adds a practical touch for owners who intend to take the FJ beyond paved roads.

With the FJ, Toyota has added a smaller Land Cruiser with a five-door layout, modern cabin technology and traditional off-road hardware.
