Ferrari has taken the cover off its first-ever all-electric car, called Luce. The new Ferrari Luce EV has been designed by Appleās chief designer, and it offers a five-seater layout, which is also a first for the Italian carmaker. Learn everything about the new Luce EV below.

Ā
Exterior design and platform
Ā

Ā
The new Luce EV has been designed on a new all-electric 800V architecture. This platform supports rapid DC charging and also eliminates the drivetrain tunnel, thus freeing space on the inside.
Ā
However, the exterior design of the Luce EV is radical and definitely polarising to some. It is the biggest-ever Ferrari car, measuring 5,026mm in length, 1,999mm in width, and 1,544mm in height. It also offers a wheelbase of 2,961mm, which makes it longer than the Purosangue.
Ā
Ferrari terms the design of the Luce EV as āunconventionalā and ādisruptiveā. The front fascia packs the sealed C-shaped LED headlamps, a low-slung bonnet, and a rising shoulder line. The upper half of the car is painted black, including the roof and the mirrors.
Ā

Ā
The side profile embodies a GT-like sloping roofline, while the 23-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels are the biggest-ever to feature on a production Ferrari car. Meanwhile, the rear profile is accentuated by the quad circular LED taillights and a short overhang, which gives it a crossover-like appearance.
Ā
With that said, the coefficient of drag on the Luce EV is 0.25 Cd, which is lower than that of the Ferrari Amalfi. It also gets active air fins at the front, which increase the aerodynamic capability of the car on the go.
Ā
Interior design and features
Ā

Ā
Ferrari had earlier revealed the cabin details of the Luce EV. It is the first Ferrari car to offer a five-seater layout, which makes it more comfortable for families as well.
Ā
The overall design is inspired by the 1960s Ferrari race cars, hence it features a three-spoke retro steering wheel with tactile switches and paddle shifters. The standalone 12.5-inch digital OLED driver console, packed in a black casing, features round dials, which look like analogue, but are digital.
Ā

Ā
These dials and other functions of the car can be customised and changed via the free-standing 10-inch Samsung infotainment screen in the middle. This screen also features driving telemetry, which shows crucial information like lap times, battery health status, electric motor temperature, brake temperature, regeneration modes, and more.
Ā
The rest of the cabin features beige-coloured leather upholstery. The rear passengers get a single bench-type seat with a flat floor, thanks to the new platform. The flat floor also means good boot space, which is 597 litres, the biggest ever on a Ferrari car.
Ā
Battery specs, range, performance
Ā

Ā
Powering the Luce EV is a 122 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This pack sends the power to quad electric motors, which produce a combined output of 1,050 bhp and a maximum torque of 990 Nm.
Ā
Things do not end here. The Luce EV might not look beautiful, but it certainly is fast. The electric crossover can sprint 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, while it gets a top speed of 310 km/h. The claimed range stands at 530 km, which is considerably less than that of rivals like the Xiaomi YU7.
Ā
Meanwhile, it gets four-wheel steering, active torque vectoring, and paddle shifters that generate a feel of proper gear shifting. On the other hand, the 800V architecture means it supports DC charging of up to 355 kW.
Ā
When will it launch in the Middle East?
Ā
As of now, Ferrari has not announced the launch timeline of the Luce EV in the Middle East. It is expected to debut later this year or early next year in the UAE and GCC markets.
Ā
Cars24 UAE says
Ā
The new Ferrari Luce EV is a big step for the Italian sports car manufacturer. Ferrari has a legacy of making true driver's sports cars for over a decade, and now entering the EV era with the Luce is going to be a deciding factor.
