Engine specs of the new 2026 Audi RS5

The biggest change on the new RS5 is the powertrain. While the RS5 is based on the Audi A5, it features a new plug-in hybrid 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that standalone makes 501 bhp.

This engine is paired with a 130kW electric motor that makes an additional 189 bhp, thus taking the total power to 639 bhp. It can sprint 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, even after weighing 2,370 kg.

Meanwhile, it can also cover up to 80 km on pure electric power, which makes it more usable for everyday commutes. Audi has also updated the Quattro AWD system on the new RS5.

The new updated AWD system can send up to 85% torque to the rear wheels and 70% to the front wheels as per the requirement. This is achieved by the 8-speed automatic gearbox that is connected to the limited-slip differential.

The new RS5 also features the first-ever electro-mechanical differential that can supply 40 Nm torque and 8 kW power to the rear wheels electronically, before the mechanical torque comes into play.

Audi has also updated the suspension system with the new twin-valve shock absorbers that provide a planted ride quality with go-kart-like handling. With these changes, the new 2026 Audi RS5 can reach a top speed of 285 km/h.

Exterior design of the 2026 Audi RS5

The new RS5 is available in Sportback and Avant variants. Since it bears the RS badge, it is substantially different from the regular A5 sedan.

The RS-spec body kit that includes the aerodynamic bumpers, side skirts, spoiler, and splitters, makes it quicker and looks mean. Additionally, the RS-spec grille, badges, and the lightweight dual-tone alloy wheels further elevate the design of the new RS5.

Customers can also opt for the Sports Package that adds options like the race exhaust system, 21-inch RS alloy wheels, dynamic front and rear bumpers, and more.

Interior features of the 2026 Audi RS5

On the inside, the RS5 looks identical to the A5 sedan, save for the sporty black and red theme of the cabin. It features the sporty Alcantara leather with red stitching and RS badging on the centre console, seats, door sills, and the steering wheel.

The Sports Package include the special elements like Brass highlights, which are first for any production car in the world. The optional sound system further elevates the cabin experience of the new Audi RS5.

When will it arrive in the UAE?

Audi has revealed that it will start accepting orders for the new RS5 by March 2026, while the deliveries are expected to start by June 2026 internationally.
