Everything we know so far about the 2027 Nissan Sunny

The all-new Sunny has been unveiled for the Latin American car market. It is named ‘Versa’ for the South American car market. The latest mid-life update for the Sunny has brought interesting design updates.

On the outside, it now features an all-new front and rear design. The front fascia now gets a new sloping bonnet with sculpted fenders and split headlamps connected via a black highlight and a slim grille design. 

The LED DRLs are positioned above the headlights, mimicking the ‘eyebrow’ design. Meanwhile, the front bumper features a curvy design with a slim horizontal grille.

The side profile of the 2027 Sunny remains largely unchanged, save for the black mirrors with a 360-degree camera and the new dual-tone alloy wheels. Thankfully, Nissan has kept the conventional door handles, unlike other carmakers that are rushing towards the retractable handles.

The rear profile has also undergone a massive update with a new boot, new sharp LED taillights, and an upright bumper design. The first set of official photos also showcases a new Arctic Ice Blue exterior paint, which will be added to the current colour palette.

While the interior details of the new 2027 Sunny are yet to be revealed, we can safely assume that it will get a new dashboard with a redesigned steering wheel, a bigger touchscreen, wireless connectivity, a digital driver console, and safety features like the Nissan ProPilot autonomous safety system.

Engine specs of the 2027 Nissan Sunny

Powering the updated Sunny is the tried and tested 1.6-litre, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This powerplant already powers the current-gen Sunny in the UAE, and it develops 118 bhp and 149 Nm, while being paired with a CVT automatic transmission.

The new Nissan Sunny remains a front-wheel drive car, and it is likely to offer a similar performance as the outgoing model internationally.

When will it launch in the UAE?

Online reports hint that the new 2027 Sunny, aka Versa, will be exclusively available in the Latin American car market. In fact, Nissan has already begun its production at its Mexico-based production facility.

If so, the possibility of it launching in the UAE is less. However, if Nissan plans to bring it to the UAE, it won’t be anytime soon. If it gets launched, it will compete with the Toyota Corolla in the UAE.
