Mazda has confirmed that a new-generation CX-3 crossover is on its way next year. The CX-3 is the entry-level SUV model of Mazda in select global markets, including the UAE.
2027 Mazda CX-3: What do we know so far?

The next-generation Mazda CX-3 has been recently confirmed through the company’s mid-year financial report. The report clearly mentions that a new-generation model is underway, and it will be called CX-3, thus clearing speculations of a new nomenclature.
The CX-3 is Mazda’s entry-level take on the SUV segment globally. It is fairly popular in the UAE and other countries like Oceania and Africa. The new-generation CX-3 is expected to undergo a massive design upgrade, and it will fall in line with the new CX-5, which was unveiled last year with the company’s latest design language.
Furthermore, Mazda unveiled the concept sketches of the new-generation CX-3 last year in Thailand, which gave us the first glimpse of what to expect. The sketches revealed a compact SUV with a new design, featuring elements like sharp LED lights, a curvy roofline, and a more upright stance as compared to the current model.
In terms of size and dimensions, we assume that the CX-3 will not receive a big update. However, the new exterior styling will surely upgrade its road presence. We also expect a similar upgrade for the interior design, which is likely to boast design, layout, features, etc, from the new CX-5.
Hybrid engine coming soon
The online reports also hint at new hybrid and mild-hybrid engine options. While the current model is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, the next-generation model is likely to be more efficient and powerful.
Meanwhile, Mazda will retain the pure petrol powertrain options with a six-speed manual gearbox for certain markets. Mind you, these details are yet to be confirmed, and the GCC-spec model could continue using the same 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 148 bhp and 198 Nm, while being paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
When will it launch in the UAE?
With the online reports hinting at the global debut next year, we can safely assume that the new-generation Mazda CX-3 SUV will be introduced in the GCC and the UAE markets by the end of next year.
