Interior details of the Chery-JLR Freelander 8

The interior design of the Freelander 8 SUV boasts a luxurious, light-coloured theme draped in leather upholstery. The brand has released the official images on its social media handles ahead of the global launch of the SUV, which is scheduled to take place in the UAE.
Speaking of the details, the cabin does look spacious, and the front seats give us a feel that it will offer a commanding driving position. The unique bits include the stepped dashboard design that boasts a massive, full-size 46.3-inch panoramic display with 8K resolution. This display acts as a big infotainment screen that shows every detail of the car.

Moving on, there is a new three-spoke steering wheel with haptic controls, a big 15.6-inch floating infotainment screen, twin wireless charging pads on the central console, and almost no physical control buttons.
The lower part of the cabin features a dark-coloured theme with brushed aluminium highlights on the doors and pedals. Overall, you do feel the Chinese design language resemblance that we often get to see on Chinese cars like BYD, Chery, Denza, etc.
With a lot of straight lines in the design, the overall cabin gives an idea of comfort for all passengers. The Freelander 8 will be a six-seater SUV, and it will be offered in a 2+2+2 layout.
What to expect from the Freelander 8?

The Freelander 8 is based on a new iMax platform, which measures 5.12 metres in length. This means that it will be a fairly big SUV, which will be positioned against the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 250 and the Nissan Patrol.
The new platform allows the brand to equip the Freelander 8 with multiple powertrain options. Initially, it will get a range-extender, or an EREV powertrain. It will get a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will act as a generator to charge a 60.3 kWh battery pack, which will further deliver up to 221 km of EV range. The total range is believed to be upwards of 1,000 km, and the maximum power is rated at 560 bhp.
Not just that, but it will be a practical SUV for the Middle East as it will get a dual-motor AWD configuration with Huawei’s Chenkun ADS 5.0 system and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset.
Some of the top features of the Freelander 8 will include ventilated seats, a LiDAR-based ADAS safety suite, AI-assisted voice commands, a full-size panoramic sunroof, LED cabin lights, memory seats with a massage option, etc.
When will the Freelander 8 SUV launch?
The Freelander 8 will initially be launched in China in the second half of this year. However, its global debut will take place in the UAE before the China launch.
