Hyundai is about to bid farewell to the current generation of the i20 hatchback internationally. The Korean car brand has already unveiled its fourth-generation i20 in Brazil recently.
To bid adieu to the current generation model, Hyundai has crafted a new limited-run i20 N Shadow Edition that will be sold in the Australian market. The catch here is that this model will be limited to only 100 units.
What makes the Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition special?

While the world is ready to bid farewell to the current-generation i20, Hyundai has made sure that its Australian fans get something more special. Therefore, the idea of the i20 N Shadow Edition popped up, and this limited edition car is now up for grabs to only 100 customers.
The Shadow Edition i20 N is based on the regular i20 N, but it features cosmetic updates. On the outside, it gets the new exclusive two-colour options and the new 18-inch bronze matte alloy wheels with black caps. Meanwhile, the door decals feature bronze highlights to distinguish the Shadow Edition from the “standard” variant.

Moving on the inside, the Shadow Edition i20 N features Alcantara leather upholstery on the steering wheel and on the gearshift lever. Additionally, the floor mats have been made out of the Pirelli P Zero rubber, which is also wrapped around the rims. To make every customer feel special, there is an individual numbered plate out of 100 placed below the central AC vents.
With these changes, the new i20 N Shadow Edition continues to offer the same design elements, the same interior features, and the same safety features as its standard version.
Mechanically, the i20 N Shadow Edition is unaltered. It gets powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that makes 204 bhp and 275 Nm. It comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission only. Hyundai claims that it can do 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and it has a top speed of 230 km/h.
When will the next-gen Hyundai i20 launch?
Hyundai recently revealed the new-gen i20 for the Brazilian market. The new model packs a big update to its design and cabin layout. It is being reported online that the new-gen i20 will be available in Brazil by September 2026. However, its launch timeline for the GCC market is yet to be finalised.
We suspect that Hyundai could introduce the fourth-generation i20 in the UAE by mid-2027. The updated model will likely continue to offer the current engine specifications as it is.
What does this mean for the UAE customers?
The i20 N is a sports hot hatchback, and it is sold only in certain markets, which excludes the UAE and GCC. The Shadow Edition is further a more specific and limited-run model that celebrates the essence of the i20 N. Hence, it makes sense for Hyundai to sell the Shadow Edition in Australia.
Meanwhile, the UAE customers should wait for the new-generation i20, which will likely launch by next year. Or, they can search for a used Hyundai car with Cars24 UAE for the best deal.
