After consecutive hikes in UAE fuel prices for months, the region witnessed its first relaxation in July 2026. Now, online reports and financial experts are stating that the fuel prices in the UAE in August 2026 are also likely to be reduced, which shall mark the second consecutive month of price drop.
UAE fuel price in August 2026: What to expect?
Going by the predictions of the experts and the global crude oil prices, the fuel rates in the UAE are expected to be reduced next month. However, the price reduction is likely to be smaller than expected, and there are various reasons behind this, as stated by the experts.
Some key factors that are restraining the fuel price reduction in the UAE:
- Geopolitical situation: As per the experts, the geopolitical tensions are volatile right now, as Iran and the US keep engaging repeatedly with each other; crude oil prices amid the situation are bound to bounce to and fro.
- Low global inventories: The global oil inventories are running low and tight in storage ever since the Middle East disruption. Hence, the refined oil supply remains restricted, and it can lead to short-term spikes in prices.
- Monthly price model: The UAE fuel committee is bound to adjust the fuel rates in the region by averaging the international price fluctuations from the previous months. The big drop of up to 33 per cent in the fuel rates in July 2026 could lead to a small price reduction in August 2026.
With that said, the current fuel prices in the UAE for July 2026 are as follows:
- E-Plus 91: AED 3.21/litre
- Super 98: AED 3.40/litre
- Special 95: AED 3.29/litre
- Diesel: AED 3.60/litre
The UAE fuel committee will announce the fuel rates for August 2026 on July 31, 2026. The new rates will be implemented from August 1, 2026, across the region.
