Suzuki Jimny gets ADAS safety in Japan
The latest update for the Jimny in Japan is the addition of the new autonomous safety assist functions. Mind you, this has been added to the 3-Door Jimny, as the 5-door version was updated with ADAS earlier this year.
With that said, the radar-based Level 2 ADAS suite is now a standard for every Jimny in Japan, whether it includes the Jimny Sierra (3-Door) or the Jimny Nomade (5-Door).
As per the details, these new features include the following additions:
- Front collision mitigation and avoidance assist
- 360-degree camera
- Adaptive cruise control
- Blind spot monitoring and alert
- Lane keep assist
- Lane change monitoring and alert
Apart from the new ADAS safety features, the Japanese-spec Jimny comes loaded with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, and BA as standard safety features. Jimny is already a world-class off-roader, and it scored 3 stars in Euro NCAP crash tests in 2018.
Is it coming to the UAE?
As of now, no. The brand has not made any announcements regarding the ADAS-equipped Jimny’s launch in the global market, including the UAE.
However, considering the increasing safety norms, we suspect that it can possibly launch in the UAE in the future, maybe in 2026. If so, it will be priced higher than the current model.
