What is the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella?

The newly introduced Urban Cruiser Ebella is an electric crossover that has been built in collaboration with Suzuki. Toyota-Suzuki partnership has already developed cars like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the Ebella is their first electric venture.
It is based on Suzuki’s Heartect-e platform, which is a sturdy architecture and allows rapid charging while ensuring the top safety. The Ebella measures 4.28 metres in length, which places it in the same category as the Hyundai Kona EV.

Toyota has used the ‘Urban Tect’ styling on the Ebella, which includes an upright fascia that boasts sharp LED headlamps with the ‘hammered’ daytime running lights. The rest of the car is the same as the Suzuki e Vitara, the latter of which was introduced last year in the global market.
However, to top it all off, Toyota has used its own 18-inch dual-tone alloys, while the rear features a big Toyota badge and Ebella lettering on the boot, ensuring that it is not a ‘Suzuki’, but a pure Toyota. Bingo!
What are its interiors like?

On the inside, the Urban Cruiser Ebella packs a luxurious cabin and seating for five. You will notice leather upholstery on the seats, dashboard, and door panels, which is contrasted with a black theme.
Draped in this dual-tone theme is a modern dashboard design that features a dual-connected screen panel, consisting of a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a 10.1-inch digital driver console. Moreover, the car is fully equipped with the latest technology, which includes the following:
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Electric driver seat adjustment
- Front seats with ventilation
- Wireless charging
- Drive modes
- Electronic parking brake
- Panoramic sunroof
- Dual-zone climate control
- Electric tailgate
- Read disc brakes
- 360-degree camera
- ADAS: Adaptive cruise control, Blind-spot monitor, Lane-assist, Auto-emergency braking
What about the battery specs of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella?
Toyota will offer the Urban Cruiser Ebella in three variants: E1, E2, and E3. The brand has launched the range-topping E3 variant, which is equipped with a 61 kWh battery pack.
This battery powers a front-wheel drive electric motor, which generates 171 bhp and 193 Nm. The claimed range is said to be 543 km on a full charge. It also supports DC charging, which adds 10-80% in 45 minutes.
Will it launch in the UAE?
The UAE and the Middle East are Toyota’s top priority markets. However, Toyota has been on the back foot when it comes to EVs in the Middle East. We sincerely hope that Toyota brings this practical electric crossover to the UAE, but as of now there are no such plans.
