Nissan Patrol gets Adaptive Air Suspension and Dynamic Damper

Nissan Patrol Front

Earlier this year, Nissan launched the 2025 Patrol in the UAE and the Middle Eastern market. The SUV became an instant hit, garnering over 50% year-on-year sales within the first six months.

Now, to further accentuate the driving experience of its flagship SUV, Nissan has introduced the Adaptive Air Suspension and Dynamic Damper technology to the Platinum, Pro-4X, and NISMO variants.

The new adaptive air suspension offers a plush ride quality, while improving the on- and off-road behaviour, stability, and performance of the SUV. Meanwhile, the automatic electronic dampers judge the driving conditions by using the sensors and cameras of the Nissan Pilot Pro  ADAS system, and further raise or lower the height of the vehicle by assessing the conditions.

Under the bonnet, the SUV remains unchanged as it continues using the 3.5-litre, V6 turbo petrol engine that offers a staggering performance. It is paired with a 4WD system that is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

How do Nissan’s Adaptive Air Suspension and Dynamic Dampers work?

Nissan Patrol Off Road

Speaking of the details, the e-Damper or the Dynamic Dampers adjust the damping of the springs by assessing data from the sensors and cameras. The e-Dampers then reduce the body roll or the pitching that ensures a sedan-like driving comfort. Similarly, the same e-Dampers increase the suspension softness for off-road use.

Meanwhile, there is an ‘Off-road Mode’ that raises the height of the SUV by 50 mm. Moreover, drivers get three driving modes within the Off-road Mode, which enable them to select the suspension settings as per the terrain.

Additionally, there is now an ‘Aero Mode’, which lowers the ride height of the car and stiffens the suspension to offer a more planted ride quality and high-speed stability for highway use.

Nissan has gone one step further with the e-Dampers and the Adjustable Air Suspension, as the vehicle lowers itself when parked. This is to reduce the height of the SUV for easy ingress/egress of passengers and easy cargo loading/unloading.

What is the cost of Nissan’s Adaptive Air Suspension?

Nissan has not revealed the individual price of the Adaptive Air Suspension and the e-Dampers for the existing Patrol owners. However, these systems will be offered as standard on the Platinum, Pro-4X, and NISMO variants.

Cars24 UAE says

Nissan Patrol is undoubtedly one of the most popular SUVs in the Middle East. It is loved for its sheer size, road presence, strong off-road performance, and acres of space on the inside. The 2025 Patrol now gets the benefit of the adaptive air suspension and electronic dampers that adjust the vehicle height and ride quality consistently without manual interference.
