2025 Nissan X-Trail Nismo - Design changes

The newly revealed X-Trail Nismo is based on the standard AWD model. However, as its name suggests, it is equipped with sporty cosmetic changes.
The first change is the addition of a sports body kit, which includes the front bumper lip spoiler. On the side, it has sporty skirts, while the rear bumper gets an integrated diffuser with F1-inspired brake lights. The ORVMs are also painted in black with red pinestripes.

All of these parts, along with the Nismo front grille, are painted in piano black. Nissan claims that the Nismo kit reduces the lift up to 29% as compared to the standard car.
Moreover, the front fascia gets the black chrome highlights around the LED headlights, grille, and bumper. The side and rear profile also gets the red pinestriping - similar to the Nissan Patrol Nismo.

To further enhance the performance and looks, it features the Enkei 20-inch black aluminium alloy wheels. These get the wide centre opening for better brake heat dissipation, while their outer surface is flat to reduce the aero drag on the SUV.
2025 Nissan X-Trail Nismo - Interiors

On the inside, the X-Trail Nismo gets an all-black outlook. The complete cabin is draped in black leather upholstery, which is matched with red highlights on the dashboard, red stitching on the seats and steering wheel, and aluminium race pedals.
The features list on the X-Trail Nismo is identical to the top-spec X-Trail AWD model. It gets the Level 2 ADAS, wireless charging, ambient lighting, electric front seats with ventilation, panoramic sunroof, and more.

Customers can also opt for the Recaro-Nismo front race seats. These are optional, and come equipped with ventilation and electric adjustment. The X-Trail Nismo is a 5-seater version, and it will not be sold with the 7-seater option.
2025 Nissan X-Trail Nismo - Engine specifications
To offer an exciting driving experience, Nissan has equipped the X-Trail Nismo with Kayaba Swing Valve shock absorber dampers. These reduce the body roll and increase the high-speed stability.
Moreover, the 4ORCE AWD e-hybrid system of the X-Trail Nismo has been updated to offer better torque distribution and increase the stability and performance of the SUV.
This system increases the torque distribution on the rear wheels and controls the directional turning of the front wheels. With the help of this, the X-Trail Nismo offer better mid-corner stability and acceleration.

Nissan has also re-tuned the Drive Modes of the X-Trail Nismo. These modes now offer different torque distributions to the front and rear wheels as per the requirements. Additionally, the Sports Mode now features a new VCM (Vehicle Control Module) setting for improved responsiveness and quick acceleration.
Powering the X-Trail Nismo is the same 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, e-hybrid engine that offers 211 bhp of peak power and 525 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to an e-CVT automatic transmission.
2025 Nissan X-Trail Nismo - UAE launch and price
Nissan has made it clear that the X-Trail Nismo is specifically designed for the Japanese market. However, if the company plans to expand it internationally, then it will come to the UAE for sure. But, as of now, there are no such plans.
If ever the X-Trail Nismo comes to the UAE, it will be positioned above AED 150,000. It directly rivals the new 2025 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport, which was recently launched in the global market.
Our verdict
The new Nissan X-Trail Nismo is more or less a cosmetic update of the standard model. However, with its change in the suspension, ECU tuning, the overall handling and response of the SUV is bound to be better than the standard car. It is something similar to what Toyota has done with the RAV4 GR Sport, which also features cosmetic and mild hardware updates for better feel.
