2026 Lexus ES: What has changed?

The new Lexus ES measures 5,140 mm in length and 1,920 mm in width, giving it a larger road presence than its predecessor. The exterior features L-shaped LED headlamps, a redesigned front fascia and a full-width LED rear light bar. Higher Platinum specifications add 21-inch aero-style alloy wheels, soft-closing doors and a panoramic glass roof.
Inside, the redesigned cabin features a 14-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay connectivity. Lexus has also introduced concealed dashboard control switches that illuminate when needed, creating a cleaner dashboard layout. Depending on the grade, buyers can get semi-aniline leather upholstery, ventilated front seats and ambient lighting.
The larger dimensions and revised cabin aim to improve comfort for both front and rear passengers, while the new design gives the ES a more contemporary appearance.
2026 Lexus ES 500e vs ES 350h: Performance and specifications

The biggest change to the new ES range is the addition of the fully electric ES 500e alongside the ES 350h hybrid. The two models share the new-generation design but differ in power delivery, drivetrain and ownership requirements.
The Lexus ES 500e uses a dual-motor electric setup with DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, producing 338 hp. Its 74.6 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of 465 km, and Lexus quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds.
The ES 350h, meanwhile, combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor system to deliver 244 hp. It has front-wheel drive and a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.7 km/l. Unlike the electric ES 500e, the hybrid does not require external charging.
| Specification | Lexus ES 350h | Lexus ES 500e |
| Powertrain | 2.5L petrol hybrid | Dual-motor electric |
| Maximum power | 244hp | 338hp |
| Drivetrain | Front-wheel drive | DIRECT4 all-wheel drive |
| Battery capacity | Not specified for the hybrid battery | 74.6kWh |

The new Lexus ES range comes with Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, which brings a suite of driver-assistance features designed to support everyday driving and motorway journeys.
Key features include:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Road Sign Assist
- Safe Exit Assist
- Blind Spot Monitor
- Panoramic View Monitor
- Parking Support Brake
Equipment such as a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, a digital rear-view mirror and wireless phone charging is also available on higher specifications. The exact equipment depends on the selected grade.
Cars24 UAE says
The new Lexus ES gives UAE buyers two distinct ways to move into an electrified luxury sedan. The ES 350h is suited to drivers who want better fuel efficiency without changing their refuelling routine, while the ES 500e offers stronger output, all-wheel drive and fully electric driving.
With prices starting at AED 230,000, the new range expands Lexus's electrified offering in the UAE. The decision between the two will largely depend on whether buyers prioritise the convenience of a conventional hybrid or are ready to make the switch to a fully electric car.
