What is new on the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class?

New exterior design

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is based on the standard S-Class, which itself received a generational upgrade recently. However, the Maybach version is 180 mm longer than the standard S-Class.

In terms of exterior updates, the new Maybach S-Class now features a 20% larger grille with vertical slats and an illuminated surround, along with an illuminated Maybach logo on the top of the grille. The new LED headlamps, featuring the Mercedes Digital Light technology, have been carried forward from the new-gen S-Class.

The new Maybach also features a wide array of ‘Manufaktur’ personalisation custom options, which include the dual-tone body paint. On the side, the C-pillar now gets an illuminated Maybach logo and the new set of 20- and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The rear profile is mostly identical to the standard S-Class, save for the Maybach logo, dual-tone paint, and a different bumper. Furthermore, there is also a Night Series edition on offer that is equipped with black exterior paint, black alloy wheels, and black dark chrome exterior trim for a unique road presence. 

More luxurious interior and tech updates

The interior design now features the ‘Superscreen’ triple screen display from the standard S-Class, while the new extended leather upholstery can be experienced in the footwell and lower portion of the cabin.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also features the new rear seats with 43-degree electric recline, ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Moreover, customers can now choose the vegan upholstery for the first time on the new Maybach S-Class.

The new model is based on the E&E electronic architecture, and it features AI-driven tech, including a conversational voice assistant coupled with ChatGPT, Bing, and Gemini. It also gets the new supercomputer chips that manage the entertainment, comfort, safety, and other features via the screens.

The new model also features the return of the ‘Maybach Drive Mode’, which softens the ride quality by adjusting the active air dampers for a carpet-like ride. Moreover, the rear passengers now get two individual smartphone-like screens to operate the individual settings.

Powerful new V8 engine

With the updated model, Mercedes-Maybach has introduced a more powerful V8 engine option. The new Maybach S-Class will be offered in three engine options as follows:

• S580 V8 (M177 Evo) 4.0L offering 537bhp and 750Nm
• S580e that features a 3.0L V6 and a 22kWh plug-in battery hybrid offering 585bhp/750Nm and 98 km of EV range
• S680 featuring a 6.0L V12 making 630bhp and 900Nm for the UAE market or a 4.0L V8 making 612bhp/850Nm in certain markets

When will the new 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class launch?

The all-new 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is likely to hit the production line by the end of this year. It is expected to launch in the Middle East by late 2026 or early 2027.
