What to expect from the 2027 Honda City facelift?

2027 Honda City facelift

The latest spy shots of the upcoming City sedan facelift model reveal that the new update will only bring minor cosmetic and feature tweaks. The test car, which was spied in Brazil from the rear, shows that the City facelift will feature a reworked rear bumper and new LED taillights, taking inspiration from the Honda Civic.

Meanwhile, the overall design silhouette and dimensions of the test car look largely unchanged. However, the alloy wheels seem to be new, which will likely give its side profile a fresh flair of design.

At the front, we expect that the City facelift will feature a set of new, sleeker LED headlights that will take inspiration from the current-gen Honda Civic. The grille and bumper at the front are also likely to undergo slight modifications.

New interior and more features

Other than the exterior, Honda is most likely to enhance the interior experience of the upcoming City facelift. We expect it to feature a redesigned dashboard with a bigger and more tech-rich infotainment screen, new wireless features, and an updated digital instrument console with a new UI.

Moreover, Honda could also equip it with the new comfort and convenience features like the front ventilated seats, electric Boss Mode, AI-assisted voice commands, and more.

The GCC-sped Honda City already gets the ADAS safety features like the adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, etc, while the global market will get these features with the new facelifted model. But, we suspect that Honda will improve the safety features on the GCC-spec City facelift by adding four-disc brakes and more.

No mechanical changes expected

With that said, we firmly believe that City sedan facelift will not feature any mechanical changes. It will carry forward the current 1.5-litre i-Vtec four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that offers 119 bhp and comes paired to a CVT automatic transmission. This engine is highly fuel efficient as it offers 21.1 km/l.

Meanwhile, there is also a 1.5-litre HEV hybrid engine option for the international market that offers more than 25 km/l. However, this engine is unlikely to be launched in the Middle East.

When will the 2027 Honda City facelift launch?

Honda is likely to unveil the facelift of the City sedan by the end of this year in Japan. We can expect the new City to launch in the UAE in the second half of 2027.

The current Honda City is priced at AED 67,900 (without VAT), and the new model will be positioned above it due to the new features and updates.

Cars24 UAE says

The current-gen Honda City is one of the most reliable and trusted sedan cars in the UAE. It is known for its durability and comfortable cabin exp erience. The upcoming facelifted model will add to its comfort, safety, and design quotient by introducing new tech and features.
