What to expect from the 2026 Toyota Hilux?

The new-gen Hilux is scheduled to debut officially in Thailand on November 10. Toyota has released the first teaser trailer of the new pickup model, which shows us the new changes.

For beginners, it will be based on the TNGA-F platform, which is also shared with the Toyota Tacoma and Land Cruiser. The new Hilux is expected to be bigger and wider than the outgoing model.

The teaser images show a new front fascia with the new, sharp LED DRLs and new headlights. The front grille has also been reworked with a new design and Toyota lettering.

Earlier spy shots have revealed that the new-gen Hilux will get a bigger flat bed bay and an upright stance. The rear teaser image shows the new vertical LED taillights. We can safely assume that it will feature new alloy wheels with AT tyres.

Interiors and features

While the interior details are yet to be revealed, not long ago, its dashboard design was leaked online. The new cabin design is expected to include a bigger 12-inch floating-type infotainment screen, a new digital console, and a double-deck dashboard.

Meanwhile, the door panels and the centre console will also be redesigned for better ergonomics and improved passenger comfort. The rear seats will also be redesigned for better comfort and more space.

Toyota is also expected to equip the new-gen Hilux with modern features, including ambient lighting, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS safety features, ventilated front seats, and more.

Engine specs

Most of the online reports suggest that the new Hilux will continue offering the current engine options, which include the 2.7-litre petrol and the 2.8-litre diesel mills. 

However, Toyota is on the edge of phasing out the 2.7-litre petrol and the 2.4-litre diesel engines, which are also sold in the UAE. These will be replaced by an all-new 2.5-litre strong hybrid motor that will also propel the next-generation Fortuner.

New Toyota Hilux UAE launch and price expectations

As far as the launch timeline is concerned, the new-generation Hilux will debut in Thailand on November 10, 2025. Considering that the Middle Eastern car market is the home ground for Hilux, we hope it will launch in the UAE early next year.
