Renault has revealed its new flagship model, which is a coupe-SUV based on the European spec Renault Koleos, called Filante. The Renault Filante has been exclusively designed for the Middle East and other markets outside of Europe. Read its complete details below.

Everything to know about the Renault Filante

The Filante SUV is basically a remodelled European Renault Koleos. However, it has undergone a massive design upgrade to make it the new flagship model for international markets like the UAE, South Korea, and Latin America. It will be manufactured in the Renault Samsung factory based in Busan, South Korea.

The Filante is based on Geely’s CMA or Compact Modular Architecture platform. Mind you, Geely and Renault have been in a pact since 2022, and they both cumulatively own 45% each in Horse Powertrain, the company responsible for making engines for both manufacturers.

Design and interiors of the Renault Filante

Since the Filante has been designed for the global markets, it features a revamped exterior design with the coupe roofline and a sporty outlook that keeps it in the premium segment globally. 

It features a sharp front fascia with illuminated grille elements, twin LED daytime running lights, and an illuminated Renault logo. Similarly, the rear-end is loaded with the sharp triple LED taillights that are connected via a black sporty panel design, a roof-integrated spoiler, and an uplifted boot shape for a sporty design.

Unlike the exteriors, the interiors of the Renault Filante are identical to the European Renault Koleos. It gets a similar dashboard, seats, door panels, and centre console. However, the Filante has a four-spoke steering wheel, dual-tone leather upholstery with a variety of colour options, and a classy-looking font style for the digital screens.

Engine specs and mileage of the Renault Filante

Powering the Renault Filante is the 1.5-litre E-Tech Hybrid four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which is a trademark of Renault. 

The petrol engine develops 148 bhp and 250 Nm of power and torque. It is mated to an electric traction motor producing 134 bhp and 320 Nm. Meanwhile, an 80 bhp and 180 Nm electric motor starts the petrol engine and charges the 1.64 kWh battery pack.

All of this technology combined produces 247 bhp and 565 Nm of peak power and torque, which is one of the best in its segment. Speaking of its fuel efficiency, Renault claims that the Filante delivers 21.73 km/l.

When will the Renault Filante launch in the UAE?

Renault has revealed that the Filante will be launched in South Korea first, which is by March 2026, and the rest of the countries, including the Middle East, will follow later.

We suspect that it will launch in the UAE by mid-2026 with an expected price tag of AED 150,000.
