Mitsubishi released a year-end video, celebrating its motorsports history and its focus for the future of the motorsports evolution. At the end of this video, a short glimpse of the next-gen Pajero Sport, which makes it the first time that the brand has officially teased it.

While the video does not clarify the name or any details about it, the ending certainly confirms that this new-gen Pajero Sport is all set to debut globally later this year.

We have already seen it testing on the global asphalt last year, where the fully camouflaged test car showed the boxy design and the modern design features like the L-shaped LED lights, big glass area, and an overall bigger size than the previous generation model.

Rumours are that the new-gen Pajero Sport will be based on a modified form of the current Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck, which has been recently facelifted for the Thailand market with the new fascia and new features.

The biggest advantage speculated from the bigger size will be roomy cabin space. The big cabin will be easily able to accommodate three rows, which will offer added utility, along with its 4WD capability.

When will it launch in the UAE?

It is speculated that the new Pajero Sport will be launched with diesel, petrol, hybrid, and even a fully electric iteration in the future. The global debut timeline of the Pajero Sport is yet to be finalised, but we suspect that it will be launched by mid-2026 in Japan, making it to the UAE by the end of this year, hopefully!

Once launched, it will rival the Toyota Fortuner, which itself is overdue for a new-gen update. Toyota is developing the next-gen Fortuner, which will be offered only with a strong hybrid engine. The new-gen Fortuner will mark its global debut later this year.
