The 2025 Nissan Frontier Pro pickup truck has been unveiled at the Auto Shanghai Motor Show 2025. The new model is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which increases its power and efficiency.

Nissan Frontier Pro - Engine, specs, and mileage

Revealed exclusively for the Chinese car market, the upcoming Frontier Pro pickup truck is powered by a new EV tech.

While the ICE duty is covered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, it combined with the plug-in hybrid motor, provides a peak power output of 402 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque.

With the help of the EV powertrain only, it can cover 135 km on a single charge.

Additionally, it also comes equipped with a standard all-wheel drive system and an electromechanical locking rear differential system.

Nissan has also equipped the Frontier Pro with four driving modes: Hybrid, Pure Electric, Performance, and Snow.

Nissan Frontier Pro - Design and dimensions

The new Frontier Pro pickup truck is based on the Nissan-Dongfeng Z9 platform, the Frontier Pro is 5,520 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,950 mm in height.  

Design-wise, it features a seamless outlook with connected lights on both ends, illuminated Nissan logo, black contrast roof and ORVMs, new tailgate graphic design, revised bumpers with scuff plates, and more.

The new Frontier Pro also gets hood vents, which are inspired by the 1980s Nissan D21 Hardbody pickup truck.

The side profile is equipped with heavy-duty 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tyres, along with scuff plates for body protection.

Nissan Frontier Pro - Interior and features

The cabin design of the upcoming Frontier Pro pickup is futuristic as well as minimalistic. 

It gets a light yellow and grey contrast theme on the inside, along with leather upholstery and a unique centre console design with a drive mode selector and gearshift lever.

The dashboard is equipped with a two-spoke D-cut steering wheel with mounted controls, while a 10-inch digital cockpit serves the driver needs.

Nissan has also added a big 14.6-inch infotainment screen, which features wireless phone connectivity and other advanced features.

Other feature highlights include the V-2-L (vehicle-to-load) system, which can supply power to the electrical items for outdoor needs, including tyre inflators, a coffee machine, and more.

Nissan Frontier Pro UAE launch details

As of now, the Nissan Frontier Pro plug-in hybrid will be launched in China first. However, going by the company's priority for the UAE market, we can safely assume that the new Frontier Pro shall be launched by 2027 in the Middle East.
