2025 Jeep Compass SUV - Design

The new-gen Compass is based on the newly developed STLA Medium platform, which is also shared with the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross.
In terms of design, the new Compass has evolved by keeping the iconic Jeep design traits alive. Its outlook is inspired by the Grand Cherokee as it features a boxy design with muscular panels.

The front fascia has Matrix LED wrap-around headlights, an aggressive bumper with skid plate, and a 7-vertical slat front grille.
The side profile features an identical design to the outgoing model, but the glass area and the alloy wheel design are revamped.

The rear design features radical improvement with the new boot, a new set of connected LED lights, and an overall upright stance.
The new-gen Compass is 150 mm longer in length, 159 mm longer in wheelbase, and has 55 mm more legroom for the rear passengers.
Cabin and features

The interior design theme of the new Compass matches its exterior muscular design. It features a redesigned dashboard, which is fitted with a 10-inch digital cockpit, and a 16-inch infotainment screen.

Additionally, it is equipped with the redesigned panels, new seats, and advanced features like the head-up display, rotary dial for drive mode selection, leather upholstery, voice commands, Level 2 ADAS safety, OTA (over-the-air) updates for the software, and more.

2025 Jeep Compass SUV - Engine and specifications

The new-gen Compass will be offered with three powertrains: Mild-hybrid, Plug-in-hybrid, and Electric.
Hybrid engine details
In terms of ICE powertrain, the new Compass will feature a mild-hybrid 1.2-litre, petrol engine, which generates 145 bhp of power. It is coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid battery tech, which helps in rollover acceleration, traffic idle start/stop, and ISG for fuel saving.
Another petrol engine is a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder, which is coupled with a 125 bhp electric motor. This combined generates 195 bhp and has a 21 kWh battery. It can be plug-charged for a complete EV range for city use. Jeep has not revealed the PHEV range as of now.
Mind you, both petrol engine options will be solely sold with the FWD configuration only.
EV details
Jeep has transformed the new Compass into an EV with more capable hardware. It will be sold with two EV battery options: 73 kWh and 97 kWh.
The 73 kWh battery pack features a 213 bhp, FWD configuration motor, and has a WLTP-claimed range of 500 km.
The latter, 97 kWh battery pack, features a 233 bhp, front-axle motor, which produces a WLTP-claimed range of 650 km.
Meanwhile, the AWD will be exclusive to the 4xe version, which uses an additional 179 bhp and 232 Nm rear-axle-mounted motor to the 97 kWh pack. The combined output of the AWD Compass EV is 375 bhp.
Off-road capability

Catering to the Jeep's original DNA of off-roading, the new-generation Compass gets 200 mm of ground clearance and a water wading capacity of 470 mm.
With its shorter overhangs on both ends, it has a 20-degree approach angle, a 15-degree breakover angle, and a 26-degree departure angle.
In addition to the drive modes, the 4xe variant is particularly loaded with a 10 mm suspension lift, and higher approach, departure, and break-over angles.

2025 Jeep Compass SUV - UAE launch, price, rivals
The new Compass has been introduced for the European car market. However, the company officials did confirm that it will be launched in other prominent markets like the UAE later this year.
The current Jeep Compass is priced between AED 89,000 to AED 115,000 in the UAE. With the new advanced tech and features, we expect the sticker price will be much higher.
The primary competitor of the new-gen Compass is going to be the Toyota RAV4. The Toyota RAV4 is also a well-established mid-size SUV, which is known for its reliability, hybrid engine efficiency, and comfort.
Our conclusion
The third-generation Jeep Compass SUV is going to be a game-changer for the American carmaker in the prominent markets. The company is already claiming it to be the ‘best SUV’ in its segment. It will completely revamp the SUV segment in the UAE once it is launched.
