What do we know so far about the upcoming Kia EV2?

Kia teased the EV2 concept model earlier this year. The concept car gave us a faint idea that the EV2 was going to be a crossover SUV, which will be positioned below the EV3.
The latest teaser images showcase the boxy silhouette of the EV2 production model. Additionally, the EV2 gets the vertical LED lights similar to the new Kia Telluride and the EV9.

Overall, the EV2 will focus on interior space with its boxy design and offer a modern outlook with the latest design philosophy of the brand. The design elements like the flush door handles, chiselled body panels, integrated roof rails, and streamlined front fascia will make it stand out from the rivals like the MG ZS EV.
We are assuming that its interior will offer a roomy experience for four adults, whilst the cabin design and theme will be inspired by the upcoming 2026 Kia Seltos. If so, it will possibly offer a triple screen layout on the dashboard, a twin-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

Moreover, the EV2 will likely offer the Level 2 ADAS safety features, which have become mandatory in many international markets now. The EV2 will be slightly shorter than the 4.1-meter mark.
Battery specs and range
While the exact details of the EV2's platform are unavailable, it is suspected to be based on the Hyundai-sourced E-GMP 400V platform. Moreover, it is likely to carry the battery specs from the Hyundai Inster EV sibling.
The Inster EV is offered with two battery packs, including a 39 kWh and a 46 kWh, offering a maximum range of 327 km and 369 km, respectively. Both variants are driven by a FWD electric motor setup, which is also likely to power the Kia EV2.
When will it launch in the UAE?
The new Kia EV2 will be initially launched in Europe early next year. Kia has not revealed whether it will make it to the Middle East or not. Even if it does launch in the UAE, we do not expect the launch to happen before 2027.
Cars24 UAE says
The Kia EV2 will aim at the entry-level crossover EV segment, which is growing rapidly in the global market. Kia’s USP will be its spacious cabin with roomy interiors and a feature-loaded package with decent performance for city use. However, it is unclear whether the EV2 will be launched in the UAE or not.
