Toyota has introduced the new bZ4X Touring in the UAE through Al-Futtaim Automotive. The all-electric model combines a longer, more practical body with a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain. The Toyota bZ4X Touring is designed for buyers looking for an electric car with additional luggage space and everyday practicality. Compared with the standard bZ4X, the Touring offers around 40% more luggage capacity and 113 mm of additional rear headroom.

The extended rear section and longer roofline give it a more spacious cargo area, making it suitable for family trips and longer journeys. Toyota claims the boot can accommodate four full-size golf bags, highlighting the additional practicality offered by the Touring body style.

Exterior and interior

The Toyota bZ4X Touring measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The exterior features black 20-inch alloy wheels, front skid plates and bridge-style roof rails. At the rear, a full-width black lighting element adds to its distinctive styling.

Inside, the electric car features a horizontal dashboard layout with a 14-inch touchscreen for infotainment, navigation and climate-control functions. Buyers can choose between an all-black cabin and Khaki upholstery.

The Toyota bZ4X Touring VXR AWD gets a dual-motor electric powertrain with a combined output of 375 hp. The system draws power from a 74.69 kWh battery pack and enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.

The electric car has a claimed WLTC driving range of 610 km on a full charge. Its AWD system continuously adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear axles to improve traction in different driving conditions.

The Touring also gets Subaru-developed X-MODE traction settings for low-grip surfaces, including sand and mud. These features could make it more versatile on the UAE's varied road and terrain conditions.

Battery and charging

The Toyota bZ4X Touring supports DC fast charging at up to 150 kW. According to the available specifications, charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes approximately 28 minutes under suitable conditions.
