2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Electric: What is it?

The new Eclipse Cross BEV is based on the Renault Scenic E-Tech, which was introduced in 2023 in Europe. The new Eclipse Cross is the result of Renault-Mitsubishi collaboration in the international market.

It uses the CMF-EV platform, which gives it the benefit of a flat floor design and the integration of batteries in the chassis for better performance and more range.

In terms of design, it uses the “SmartArmor” styling language of the brand. Hence, it features a closed front grille, chiselled panels, sharp 20-inch alloys, flush door handles, and armour-inspired design cues all over.

The all-electric platform offers a two-row seating with a flat floor, which allows for a spacious and comfortable cabin experience. The build quality of Mitsubishi cars is already exceptional, and we expect the same for the Eclipse Cross EV.

2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Electric: Battery, range, specs

Mitsubishi has not revealed the battery and specification details of the Eclipse Cross EV, but we can safely assume that it will share the same powertrain as the Renault Scenic E-Tech.

Therefore, it will be offered with two battery options: 60 kWh and 87 kWh. The maximum power and torque output can be around 215 bhp and 300 Nm. 

This front-wheel drive system can do 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h. The maximum claimed range is 600 km.

Mitsubishi has told the media that it will be offered with a mid-range variant as well, which could possibly have 430 km of range.

Speaking of the charging, it can support up to 150 kW of fast charging and 22 kW of AC charging.
