Exterior design

The new iX3 electric SUV is based on the Neue Klasse design philosophy that was introduced with the i3 electric sedan. In terms of exterior styling, the iX3 is a big step ahead in terms of design changes. The complete exterior design of the iX3 is inspired by the i3, and it features a modern and futuristic outlook.

The iX3 EV features the new daytime running LED lights and a blanked-off grille with an illuminated kidney grille design. The front fascia packs a clean and streamlined design, which helps the electric SUV to achieve a low coefficient of drag, which is 0.24 Cd.

Some of its key design features include the new connected LED lights, flush door handles, big greenhouse, and aerodynamic alloy wheels ranging from 20-inch to 22-inch, depending on the trim.

There are M Sport packages as well, which add sporty design bits like the M Sport bumpers, a sporty black grille, rear diffuser, front splitter, black mirror caps, M Sport brakes, 22-inch sporty alloys, and M Sport interior enhancements like the Alcantara leather upholstery, M Sport steering wheel, etc.

In terms of size, the iX3 measures 4,782 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,646 mm in height. Size-wise, the BMW iX3 is a perfect rival of the Zeekr 7X and the Xiaomi YU7.

Interior design and features

BMW IX3 cabin

The interior design of the iX3 is far more futuristic than its exterior. Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a uniquely styled dashboard that features the BMW Panoramic Vision screen. This screen runs along the lower part of the windshield, and it displays all information about the vehicle.

The sloping dashboard design features a diagonal 17.9-inch infotainment screen that controls all entertainment and comfort features like the dual-zone climate control, seat ventilation, and more. Meanwhile, it offers a massive boot space of up to 1,750 litres, while the front trunk or frunk offers an additional 58 litres of cargo space.

The new interior design of the iX3 focuses on a lounge-like experience. The new seats are not only spacious, but BMW also offers them with the perforated Veganza upholstery and an optional BMW Merino leather upholstery.

There is also an option of a vegan interior theme. Features like the panoramic sunroof, customisable LED cabin lights, wireless charging pad, multi-zone climate control, reclining rear seats, etc, offer a cocooning experience.

It is also one of the world’s safest electric vehicles as it has scored a 5-star Euro NCAP crash test rating. Furthermore, the iX3 gets Level 2 ADAS safety features like adaptive cruise control, front collision avoidance, pedestrian collision avoidance, a 360-degree camera, wildlife detection assist and crash avoidance, and even hands-free driving assistant (optional).

AGMC has not revealed whether the UAE will get the long-wheelbase version or not. If yes, the LWB version offers significantly more legroom and overall space for the rear passengers.
