The Bentley Torcal marks an important step for the British marque as it enters the fully electric luxury SUV segment. While the 986hp Torcal S will attract attention for its outright performance, the combination of a 600 km claimed range, fast charging, active suspension and Bentley’s handcrafted interior is likely to be equally important when the model eventually reaches the UAE.

Bentley has not announced the UAE price or local launch date for the Torcal yet. The SUV has only recently made its global debut, with production planned at Bentley’s Crewe facility in the UK.

For UAE buyers, the Torcal will join an established market for high-end luxury SUVs and electric vehicles. However, its final UAE pricing, specifications and availability will depend on the local launch announcement.

Bentley Torcal EV: Specs and performance

Bentley Torcal EV specs

The standard Torcal uses two electric motors producing 821 PS, or around 781hp, with 1,155 Nm of torque according to Bentley’s current technical specifications. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.

The Torcal S gets performance-tuned electric motors that produce 986hp (888 PS) and 1,350 Nm when Launch Control is activated. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h.

The Torcal is also the first Bentley to feature the brand’s new active suspension and roll-control system. Each wheel gets an individually controlled damper, while all-wheel steering can turn the rear wheels by up to five degrees. Bentley says this helps reduce the turning circle to around 11 metres, making the SUV easier to manoeuvre at lower speeds.

Bentley Torcal EV: Range and charging

The electric Bentley gets a 113.2 kWh battery and an 800V electrical architecture. Bentley quotes a maximum WLTP range of up to 600 km for both Torcal versions. The SUV supports DC fast charging, with a 10-80% charging time of around 16 minutes under suitable conditions.

The Torcal can also add more than 150 miles, or around 240 km, of range in 10 minutes when connected to a suitable 350kW charging station, according to Bentley. Actual charging times and range will vary depending on battery temperature, charger capability and driving conditions.

The SUV measures 5,008 mm in length and has a 3,023 mm wheelbase. It offers 460 litres of rear boot space along with a 90-litre front storage compartment.

Bentley Torcal EV: Interior and features

Inside, Bentley has combined traditional craftsmanship with new digital technology. The dashboard features a curved 12.25-inch OLED touchscreen, while physical controls remain on the centre console and steering wheel. The cabin also gets Bentley’s new Bullseye Vector Sphere air vents and configurable ambient lighting.

The front seats feature 16-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage functions. Buyers can also specify wellness-focused options such as Postural Adjust and automatic seat climate control. Bentley is also offering pure Merino wool upholstery developed with British textile maker Fox Brothers, alongside handcrafted veneers including Ombré Walnut.

For audio, the Torcal gets a 16-speaker, 620W Bentley Signature Audio system as standard. Buyers can upgrade to a 28-speaker, 1,780W Naim for Bentley system with Dolby Atmos 7.1.4.

One of the more unusual features is Bentley’s Dynamic Symphony. Instead of relying on a conventional engine soundtrack, the system uses sounds created by real musical instruments, including drums, viola and bass guitar. The soundtrack changes with vehicle speed and power demand and can be switched off.

Bentley has unveiled the Bentley Torcal, its first fully electric production car and a new five-seat luxury SUV. The Torcal becomes the British brand’s fourth model line alongside the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga. It is around five metres long and introduces a new design direction for Bentley, combining a sleek silhouette with an illuminated diamond grille and a newly redesigned Bentley emblem.

The new electric SUV will be available in two versions: the standard Torcal and the performance-focused Torcal S. Both use a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup and an 800V electrical architecture. The Torcal S takes performance further with up to 986hp and 1,350Nm, making it the most powerful production Bentley yet.
