Ford Mustang Mach-E GT battery specs, range, performance

The Mustang Mach-E GT is a crossover rather than a sports car like the regular Mustang. However, the brand has tried to keep its performance at par with ICE rivals, so that new owners can enjoy the true ‘Mustang’ feel.
Hence, it is powered by a 91 kWh lithium-ion battery, which has been positioned in the centre of the vehicle to reduce the centre of gravity. Meanwhile, it gets an AWD system that gets its power from the dual-electric motors, each mounted on the axles. The WLTP-claimed range of the Mustang Mach-E GT is 419 km.
With this setup, the Mustang Mach-E GT offers 487 bhp and 900 Nm of peak power and torque. These figures can pull it from 0-100 km/h in 3.3-3.5 seconds, as per the company’s claims.
Furthermore, to improve its handling and performance, Ford has incorporated Brembo brakes with ventilated calipers and MagneRide Damping (active air suspension). It rides on 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels.
Ford Mustang Mach-E GT charging details
The Mustang Mach-E GT has been designed for everyday use as well. It supports an AC wall charger that can be installed at home, offering 11 kW of charging that takes approximately 10 hours to completely charge it.
Meanwhile, the EV also supports up to 150 kW of DC or rapid charging that can juice it 10-80% in just 36 minutes. The good part is that it also supports standard domestic wall sockets, which makes it even easier to charge in the UAE.
Interior and safety features
On the inside, it features high-quality materials, soft-touch leather upholstery, and features, including a big 15.5-inch infotainment screen that supports the Ford Sync 4.0A, like the wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Ford is also offering a massive 81 litres of front cargo space, aka Frunk. Meanwhile, the cargo space on offer is 402 litres, which can be extended to 1,420 litres by folding the rear seats.
Ford has also equipped it with multiple drive modes that have been specifically designed keeping in mind the power on offer and everyday usability. These include the following:
- Whisper: Made for a comfortable and smooth driving experience with max range
- Active: Offers a mix of performance and comfort with a moderate range
- Untame: Like the Sports mode on ICE cars, it offers sharp throttle and steering response
- Untame Plus: This is a GT-exclusive mode, and it offers extreme performance-oriented changes, including the stiffer suspension, direct steering feedback, etc.
In terms of safety features, the Mustang Mach-E GT is equipped with Ford BlueCruise, which is essentially a Level 2 ADAS suite. It offers features such as the adaptive cruise control, lane change assistance, blind spot monitoring and assist, automatic emergency braking, etc.
Tested for the extreme UAE heat and weather
Since the Mustang Mach-E GT was destined for the Middle East, Ford has rigorously tested it in the extreme weather and heat conditions of the UAE. The brand has also done the Jebel Hafeet test, which includes steep mountain climbs in extreme heat to ensure that the electric motors and battery performance remain intact.
Moreover, to keep the cabin cool, Ford has improved its AC cooling system as per the equivalent ICE cars. Ford wanted the same AC performance as the petrol-powered Ford SUVs.
Ford Mustang Mach-E GT price and availability
Ford has yet to announce the official pricing of the Mustang Mach-E GT in the UAE. However, customers can connect with their nearest Al Tayer Motors dealership to know the exact price and delivery time, as it is the official distributor for the Mustang Mach-E GT.
Cars24 UAE says
The Mustang Mach-E GT is now exclusively available to UAE customers. It offers the performance and punch for which the Mustang moniker is known, while its crossover SUV design offers everyday practicality. The rapid charging time and latest features make it a worthwhile choice against rivals like the Tesla Model Y.
