What is special about the Lexus LFA Concept?

Unveiled in Japan alongside the upcoming Toyota GR GT sports car, the LFA Concept is the next chapter in the LFA’s story. However, unlike its iconic LFA predecessor that had a beautiful V10 engine and a Yamaha-tuned exhaust note, the new-generation LFA is going to be electric.

Now, whether you like it or not, Lexus has ensured that the next-gen LFA Concept retains its roots from the previous LFA and the Toyota 2000GT sports cars. The design of the concept model is similar to the one we saw earlier at the Monterey Car Week 2025.

The front of the car bears a long beak design with a sloping bonnet and twin LED headlights that merge into the big aero dams on the sporty bumper. Similarly, the rear design features a ducktail shape with full-width LED lights, an illuminated Lexus logo, and an F1-styled brake light.

The LFA Concept is based on the all-new aluminium chassis that embodies forged carbon fibre parts on its exterior panels to offer a low-slung chassis with an even balance for an intriguing driving experience.

Toyota has used the ‘Shikinen Sengu’, a philosophy that focuses on the low centre of gravity, high rigidity, lightweight, and engaging aerodynamics, to craft the next-gen LFA Concept.
Interior design

The LFA Concept also bears a unique interior design that we have not seen on any Lexus model ever. It features a driver-centric cabin layout with a yoke-like steering wheel and digital instruments that curved around the driver’s field of vision, and a big chunky divider for the passenger and driver seats.

The brand claims that the interiors of the LFA Concept have been kept as intuitive as possible, and the new switches also enable “blind touch operation”.
Battery specs and performance
While the design of the new LFA Concept has been revealed, Lexus is yet to determine what battery, electric motor specs the new LFA Concept uses. In fact, being a performance EV means that the battery specs will play a key role here, hence Lexus is keeping them a secret as of now.
When will it launch?
Lexus has not revealed any timeline for the production-spec LFA EV. Unlike its ICE-powered Toyota sibling car, i.e. the new GR GT that has a launch timeline of 2027, the LFA Concept might take longer before it gets revealed to the world in a production form.
Cars24 UAE says
The new-generation Lexus LFA Concept offers a very promising and intriguing design. The LFA nameplate has been known for its performance and exhilarating sound, which the new LFA EV will have to beat with its electric powertrain. It will be interesting to see how Lexus will pull the buyers to the new-gen LFA in the future.
