Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its first electric vehicle based on the VAN.EA platform, called VLE. The Mercedes-Benz VLE electric van offers up to an 8-seater layout and over 700 km of claimed range. Expected to launch in the UAE next year, you can check out its complete details below.

Design and dimensions
The all-new VLE electric van is based on the VAN.EA architecture. It is the production prototype of the Vision V concept showcased in 2025.
Measuring 5,309 mm in length and offering 3,324 mm of wheelbase on the standard version, the VLE offers up to 5,484 mm in length and a wheelbase of 3,517 mm, which can easily accommodate 8 passengers.
In terms of exterior design, it features a curvy front fascia with dual-pod star-LED headlights, an illuminated grille surround, a sloping bonnet line, and the Mercedes Star motif on the bonnet.
At the back, it features a large vertical windscreen, which is accentuated by the continuous U-shaped LED taillights and a sleek bumper design. The side profile of the EV is equipped with big glass area and a sliding rear door like the V-Class.
Interior and features
On the inside, the VLE gets a luxurious cabin with a vertical dashboard and a three-spoke steering wheel. It comes loaded with three screens on the dashboard, featuring a 14-inch central infotainment console, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, and a 14-inch front passenger entertainment screen.
Since it focuses on the rear passenger comfort, the VLE is available with up to an 8-seater layout. Customers can also choose between a minimal centre console at the rear, or a floor console that stretches between the seats to the front central console.
In terms of convenience features, Mercedes offers Grand Comfort optional seats that offer recline, ventilation, heating, memory, and massage functionality. Additionally, the rear passengers get a 31.1-inch pop-up infotainment screen embedded in the roof, which is coupled with a 22-speaker Brumester sound system.
Other features include electric rear sun blinds, electric seat folding function, electric powered tailgate, vehicle-to-load charging, panoramic glass roof, mood lights, voice commands for rear passengers, four-zone climate control, and ADAS safety features.
Battery specs and range
Mercedes is offering the VLE in two variants: VLE 300 and VLE 400 4MATIC. Both variants are powered by a 115 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers 268 bhp of power on the FWD VLE 300 and 387 bhp on the AWD VLE 400.
The maximum range that VLE offers is more than 700 km. Although the brand has not revealed the exact performance or range details of the VLE.
The VLE supports 300 kW of DC charging, which adds 355 km of range within 15 minutes. It also comes loaded with a self-levelling air suspension and rear-axle steering wheel.
When will it launch in the UAE?
The electric Mercedes-Benz VLE van is expected to launch in the UAE next year. We expect it to be priced around AED 350,000-400,000 in the Middle East.
