What to expect from the new Xiaomi SU7?

Xiaomi SU7

Improved exterior design

The new SU7 will be launched in China on March 19. As per the official details, it will feature subtle changes to its exterior design. These changes primarily include the new front lower grille design for improved air flow, and a new exterior paint option called Capri Blue. The rest of the exterior will remain unchanged.

More luxurious interiors

On the inside, it now features a redesigned steering wheel, a new sub-instrument console, soft-touch leather on the door panels and dashboard, optimised stitching on the doors and dashboard, and a 3-layer ambient light system.

Enhanced safety features

With the new update, all variants of the Xiaomi SU7 will feature LiDAR safety. Moreover, all variants will offer a new, more capable 700TOPS aux driving computing chip, along with a standardised Xiaomi HAD aux driving system.

Xiaomi has also added two more airbags than before, which takes the total count of airbags to nine in the cabin. Additionally, the chassis has been restructured to offer more impact-absorbing strength of 22000Mpa. This has been done via the new hot-formed steel door anti-collision beams across all variants.

Battery specs, range, and charging improvements

All variants of the new Xiaomi SU7 will feature a bigger V6 Plus motor. The Standard and Pro variants will now offer 21 bhp more power, while the Max variant will offer 17 bhp more power than before.

This has led to an increase in range as well. The Standard variant now does 720 km, the Pro variant does 902 km, and the Max variant now offers 835 km of range. Xiaomi has also added air suspension and CDC dampers to the Standard and Pro variants.

The Standard and Pro variants now support a 752V platform, as opposed to the previous 400V platform. Meanwhile, the Max variant now gets a 900V platform. The Max variant can now be charged with a 670 km range in just 15 minutes of charging.

When will it launch?

The updated Xiaomi SU7 is scheduled to launch in China on March 19. Its pricing has been increased by 10,000-14,000 yuan (approximately AED 5,300 to AED 7,500).

We suspect that the new Xiaomi SU7 will be launched in the UAE by mid-2026 with a marginal price increase.

Cars24 UAE says

The Xiaomi SU7 is one of the best EVs worldwide. Its updated model now packs more value for money than before. The lower variants of the new SU7 have undergone significant incremental improvements.
