Xiaomi YU7 SUV: Launch and bookings
Revealed last month, the YU7 electric SUV is the second product of Xiaomi globally. It is based on the latest platform developed for the SU7 sedan, and offers three variants in China: Standard, Pro, and Max.
The launch price for the base “Standard” variant is 235,500 Yuan, which roughly translates to AED 120,500. However, the much-anticipated EV received a tremendous response within the first few minutes of the launch.
The company revealed that it fetched more than 300,000 orders in the first 1 hour of the launch. This has led to speculations from Chinese experts that the Tesla Model Y is now in danger due to the aggressive pricing and longer range of the YU7.
Xiaomi has also revealed that the YU7 SUV has gathered thrice the total number of bookings as its SU7 sedan. Mind you, the SU7 has already been outselling the Tesla Model 3 in China since its deliveries began in December 2024.
Xiaomi YU7 SUV: Battery specs and range
Xiaomi is offering various battery packs and drivetrain options on the YU7.
The base ‘Standard’ variant is equipped with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery pack, producing 320 PS rear-wheel drive electric motor and offers a maximum range of up to 835 km on a full charge.
Meanwhile, the ‘Pro’ variant gets an all-wheel drive with 469 PS of peak power output and offers a maximum range of 77 km.
The top-spec 'Max' variant gets a 101.7 kWh NCM battery, which offers 690 PS of peak power while mated to an all-wheel drive configuration. It offers 760 km of range on a full charge.
Performance of the YU7 is also very quick, as it can sprint 0-100 km/h in 3.23 seconds, while the top speed stands at 253 km/h.
In comparison to the Tesla Model Y, it offers 116 km additional range, and better acceleration as well as performance.

Xiaomi YU7 SUV: UAE launch and price
As Xiaomi is already present in Dubai and sells the SU7 sedan, we suspect that the YU7 SUV will be launched in the UAE later this year or in early 2026.
