What are the new variants of the Xiaomi YU7?
Xiaomi has been utterly successful in becoming one of the top EV brands in China, and one of the major reasons behind its success is the YU7 electric crossover. YU7 recently came into the limelight when it broke the Nurburgring lap record and became the fastest car on the iconic track by beating the Audi RSQ8 Performance. Now, Xiaomi has added two new variants to the YU7: Standard and GT.
YU7 Standard variant

Speaking of the Xiaomi YU7 Standard, it is a new base variant of the EV, which offers a rear-wheel drive configuration and develops 315 bhp. Powering it is a 73 kWh CATL lithium-ion battery, which offers a range of up to 643 km on a full charge.
The use of a smaller battery pack has resulted in a 115 kg saving as compared with the Long-Range version. Hence, it can sprint 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and still deliver a top speed of 220 km/h. It also supports DC charging, and users can juice it with a 385 km range in just 15 minutes of charging.
On the outside, it features almost no changes, save for the new, customisable 20-inch alloy wheels. However, being a base variant does not mean it lacks tech. Xiaomi has loaded the YU7 Standard with the Smart Chassis 2.0, Hyper Assisted Driving System, Nvidia Drive AGX Thor platform, and LiDAR-based safety features.
YU7 GT

Meanwhile, if the YU7 Standard does not meet your performance requirements, Xiaomi has a GT variant now. The new GT version has also become the fastest production SUV on the Nurburgring recently, and it packs monstrous power underneath.
Powered by a 101.7 kWh CATL battery, the GT version makes 990 bhp of power and 1,002 Nm torque through a dual-motor AWD setup. This setup helps it propel 0-100 km/h in just 2.92 seconds, and offers a top speed of 300 km/h. The best bit? It can also deliver up to 705 km of range as per the CLTC cycle.
To handle this powerful machine, Xiaomi has added active aerodynamics to the YU7 GT. It gets a widebody stance along with the active rear diffuser, a GT-spec front splitter, a ducktail spoiler, and 10 integrated air ducts with 19 vents. It rides on exclusive 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels, while the 24K gold badges and exclusive exterior paint options distinguish it from the rest of the variants.
On the inside, it packs Nappa leather upholstery, 123-degree zero-gravity reclining seats with electric adjustment and massaging, NVIDIA Thor chipset, LiDAR safety features, and more.
When will the new Xiaomi YU7 launch in the Middle East?
The updated Xiaomi YU7 electric crossover is likely to become available in the Middle East by the end of this year. The current model is available from a starting price of AED 253,500, and we expect the new version to be slightly pricier than it.
Cars24 UAE says
The new Xiaomi YU7 Standard and GT variants add more versatility to the electric crossover. Customers who prefer more range and practicality at a lower price can buy the Standard, while the GT offers a sportscar-like performance with a long-range.
