What is new on the 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift?
Immersive design with more stars

The latest V223 S-Class facelift is not just a mild update, but the brand claims that it uses 50% new or re-engineered parts, making it “half new”. The subtle changes on the outside include the new 20% bigger grille with 112 illuminated tri-star LED logos. Additionally, the new 10-piece tri-star LED headlights offer 40% more brightness than the outgoing version.

The side profile of the updated model gets the new alloy wheel design options, including the fresh 50-spoke alloys made from pressure-cast die. The AMG variants, meanwhile, get the lightweight 21-inch alloy wheels.

The rear design has also undergone a subtle upgrade, as the new triple tri-star LED taillights and the new bumper are fitted. Additionally, the customisation options include more than 150 exterior paint options.
A new cabin experience loaded with AI

The interior experience of the S-Class has always been its legacy bearer. With the updated model, Mercedes has gone berserk as it now offers 7 screens on the inside.
For starters, it comes with 400+ interior colour customisation options. Meanwhile, the new dashboard is fitted with the latest Hyperscreen layout, where the 14.4-inch central infotainment screen now uses the MB OS software that replaces the old MB UX system.
Mercedes claims that the central screens with MB OS act as the super brain of the car, which monitors, controls and offers customisation for nearly every bit, including the comfort, safety, performance, and other critical areas.

Moreover, it now features AI technology integration with the built-in Google Maps-driven navigation, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Bing. Additionally, it gets OTA or over-the-air updates for the new hyperscreen setup.
Meanwhile, the rear passenger experience has been elevated with the new 13.1-inch individual infotainment screens. The old controller tablet has been replaced with the two smartphone-like screens that control every function for the rear individuals, including the infotainment, climate control, music, internet, curtains, ambient lighting, seat massaging, and more.

Speaking of the rear seats, specifically, Mercedes now offers a new Pinnacle Plus Package, which offers rear seats with ventilation, heating, and massaging functions. Additionally, this package includes the rear reclining seats with up to a 43.5-degree recline.
For audiophiles, Mercedes has embedded a new 39-speaker Burmester 4D sound system with 4 exciters and a 1,690-watt woofer system. The NVH levels have also been worked upon with the new technical changes to the engines.
Euro 7-compliant engines with more power

On the technical front, the new S-Class facelift now gets all engine options as Euro-7 emission norms-compliant. Furthermore, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine in the S540 has been updated with a flat-plane crank design and new dual balancer shafts.
This setup has considerably reduced the vibrations and offers up to 537 bhp and 750 Nm. Mercedes claims that the same unit offers “much higher” power figures in the AMG guise. The exhaust sound is also improved with a more cluttered growl.
The popular inline-six petrol engine now gets the new air intake and exhaust ports. It gets a redesigned intake crankshaft and improved insulation. The diesel engine has also received an electrically-heated catalytic converter and better insulation.
On the other hand, the PHEVs now offer 100 km pure electric range, as opposed to the previous 75 km.
Full self-driving safety feature added

The S-Class was never short on the safety front, but the S-Class facelift has taken the safety aspect to a whole new level. It comes loaded with 10 cameras, 5 radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
Moreover, the ADAS suite now features the full self-driving or FSD, something we have seen on cars like Tesla. Although Mercedes says that the FSD will be initially offered in limited regions like China and the US.
When will the 2027 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift launch in the UAE?
Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the first batch of the S-Class facelift will be launched and delivered in the US in the second half of this year. Hence, it is expected to be launched in the UAE by 2027.
The current S-Class in the UAE is priced at AED 670,900 (base variant). With the new updates, we believe that the S-Class facelift will be positioned around AED 700,000 or more.
Cars24 UAE says
The all-new S-Class facelift takes the word “luxury” to a whole new level. The AI-integrated features and the technical improvements will likely elevate the overall ownership experience of the S-Class limousine globally.
