Mitsubishi is soon going to reveal the new-generation Pajero in the global market. The much-anticipated new Pajero will be a 4x4 7-seater SUV, and it will tick all the nostalgic boxes the right way. We quote the latter because Mitsubishi has released a new teaser image of the upcoming Pajero, which shows that the new model will get the iconic triple gauge pod in a digital avatar, similar to the previous generation model’s analogue design.

2027 Mitsubishi Pajero: Everything we know so far

The latest teaser image released by Mitsubishi reveals that the next-generation Pajero will not only go modern and digital, but it will also stick to its roots in rugged off-roading and 4x4 performance. We say so because the teaser image shows that the next-gen Pajero will get the new digital “Multi Meter”, which is a triple-pod digital display that features individual dials showing altimeter, roll meter, and pitch meter readings.

Despite being completely digital, its interface has been carried forward from the iconic triple-pod multi-meter that featured on the old Pajero. Mind you, the previous generation of Pajero was equipped with a triple-pod multi-meter setup on the top of the central dashboard, which displayed an altimeter, fuel gauge, and battery health.

Leaving the new teaser aside, the previous teaser revealed the new LED lighting setup of the front design, which showed the vertical LED headlights and the T-shaped daytime running lights. The leaked details from Australian patents have previously revealed that the new-gen Pajero will be offered in five- and seven-seater versions, and it will be sold in four variants in Australia.

Design and features

In fact, the new Pajero test mules have been spotted multiple times, which previously revealed its big conventional size with a well-proportioned boxy design, and modern bits like dual-tone alloys, big greenhouse, protruding rear-view mirrors, flared wheel arches, vertical LED taillights, and a dominant bodyline.

Online reports hint that the interior design of the upcoming new-gen Pajero will focus on comfort, technology, safety, and modern features. Engine specifications

Reports suggest that the new-generation Pajero is most likely going to be offered in hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine options globally. However, the majority of the rumours say that it will be launched with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine initially.

This engine is most likely to be sourced from the Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck, which also happens to be its platform donor vehicle. It is believed to produce somewhere between 200-210 bhp and 410 Nm of power and torque. Mitsubishi will mate it with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, most likely. The 4x4 will be offered as standard.

When will the 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero be launched?
