The next-generation 2027 Hyundai Tucson was recently spotted in the Austrian alps along with the current generation Tucson for high-altitude testing. The new-generation Tucson embarks on a significant upgrade in terms of exterior styling as compared to the current model.

2027 Hyundai Tucson: Exterior styling updates

The new spy shots of the upcoming 2027 Tucson showcase that it will boast a sharp and more boxy design as compared to the current model’s curvy and fluidic shape. Although the test cars were spotted with complete camouflage, the upright front stance is clearly visible.

We can also spot that the new-gen Tucson will get a set of vertically positioned LED headlights, while an LED light band will connect both headlights. The front bumper also boasts the LED foglights, along with the sensors and radar module for the ADAS safety features.

Move to the side, and you can immediately see that the bodyline is now more muscular. The roofline is slightly raked, while the mirrors are more protruding and big in size. The low-profile, sharp-looking dual-tone alloy wheels complement the overall new design.

The rear profile view was not as clear, all thanks to the Hyundai engineers for smartly covering the test cars. However, the vertical LED taillights and the upright boot give a faint idea that the rear view of the car will also undergo a significant change.

Interior design and features

We also get a faint look at the new interior design in the latest spy shots of the 2027 Tucson test cars. The cabin is likely to undergo a massive overhaul in design. The new steering wheel is clearly visible with paddle shifters mounted on the column.

Complementing the new steering wheel is the slim, high-mounted digital driver console. The big infotainment screen and the rest of the dashboard were covered, but we can safely say that it will get the latest Pleos infotainment console, and a head-up display that will work as a driver console.

Hyundai is also likely to redesign the seats and door panels like the new-generation Hyundai i20 that was recently revealed in Brazil with a new design. Since it is a much more expensive car, Hyundai will fill it up to the brim with the latest features.

Hybrid engine possible

The new-generation Tucson could also feature Hyundai’s new 1.6-litre hybrid engine. It is most likely to be a self-charging hybrid motor that will offer high mileage and performance.

Hyundai is also expected to offer this engine on the next-generation Creta, which is scheduled for a debut later next year. Interestingly, Hyundai was testing the new Tucson along with the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda C5 SUVs as part of the test car convoy. 

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid was introduced last year, and it also happens to be Hyundai Tucson’s primary rival. Hyundai could be testing the new hybrid engine along with the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for development purposes.

When will the 2027 Hyundai Tucson launch?

The official launch timeline of the next-generation Tucson is yet to be revealed. We suspect that it could be revealed in the global market early next year. Hyundai could possibly launch it in the UAE by mid-2027.
