Geely’s premium subsidiary, Lynk & Co, has officially opened the pre-bookings of its upcoming flagship SUV, called 900. The 900 SUV will compete with cars like the Range Rover in the UAE. Read its complete details below.

What to expect from the Lynk & Co 900 in the UAE?

1. Design, dimensions, platform

The upcoming Lynk & Co 900 is based on Geely’s SPA Evo platform. It measures 5,240 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height. With these dimensions, it has a long wheelbase of 3,160 mm, which offers plenty of space for the rear passengers.

In terms of styling, it has a long and wide profile with an overall boxy silhouette. The key exterior design elements of it include the twin vertical LED headlights and a full-width LED lighting system that can project customised images and texts by using 10,192 pixels.

The aerodynamic shape of the 900 SUV is accentuated by the 21-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. It gets flush door handles, which are soon going to get banned in China. Meanwhile, the roof rails are functional with a load capacity of 100 kg.

The rear design comprises a subtle and conventional boot shape. It does get the LED taillights with a connected light bar that features the illuminated Lynk & Co lettering.

2. Interior and features

The Lynk & Co 900 is a 6-seater SUV. It features three rows with captain seats and has an ultra-luxurious cabin layout. The dashboard gets a double-decker design with a full-width 95-inch augmented reality HUD, a 12.33-inch digital console, and a twin 30-inch 6K screen setup that acts as an infotainment screen.

The second-row seats can rotate 180 degrees, which can turn the rear space into a private room. Additionally, all seats get ventilation, heating, massaging, and electronic adjustments with memory functions. There is a three-zone auto AC, an electronic aroma system, and a 9-litre fridge as well.

The whole cabin is illuminated by 256 colour RGB ambient lights and gets Nappa leather treatment. Additionally, there is a 23-speaker Harman sound system as well.

The rear passengers get roof-mounted 30-inch entertainment screens. The full-size glass roof gets electrochromatic tint, and so do the rear windows, quarter glasses, and the rear windshield.

Customers can opt between three interior colours: Sunlight Beige, Crimson Sunset Orange, and Starry Night Blue.

3. Engine specs of Lynk & Co 900

The Lynk & Co 900 is a plug-in hybrid or PHEV SUV. It is offered with three engine options in China. These are as follows:

• 1.5-litre PHEV turbo petrol engine that makes 711 bhp of power and 1,000 Nm torque. It is mated to a 3DHT Evo gearbox and comes paired to dual motors and a 43 kWh NMC battery. This package offers 1,355 km range, while the top speed is around 200 km/h.
   
• 2.0-litre PHEV four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that makes 724 bhp of power and 1,038 Nm torque. It is paired with a 3DHT Evo transmission and gets a 50 kWh NMC battery and dual motors. It can deliver up to 1,350 km range, and has a top speed of 200 km/h.
   
• 2.0-litre PHEV four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with twin motors. This pack offers 870 bhp of power and 1,280 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 54 kWh NMC battery and triple electric motors, delivering a maximum range of 1,443 km. It can sprint 0-100 km/h under 5 seconds, and has a top speed of 220 km/h.

Additionally, it comes loaded with an air suspension and rear-wheel steering, which further adds to its ride quality and drivability.

4. Safety features of Lynk & Co 900

In terms of safety features, the Lynk & Co 900 has to be one of the most well-equipped cars in the world. It has a host of safety features, which are as follows:

• LiDAR featuring NVIDIA Thor chip, 5 millimetre-wave radars and 12 ultrasonic radars
• 38 autonomous safety assist systems, including adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, and more
• Driving monitoring system with 540-degree underbody view and 360-degree cameras
• 12 airbags
• Middle East-specific heat testing approval for the battery and cabin

5. UAE price and availability

The all-new Lynk & Co 900 will be exclusively sold by the Galadari Brothers in the UAE. The brand has commenced the pre-bookings, and we expect the price of the SUV to be around AED 220,000 to AED 300,000.
