Chinese carmakers OMODA & JAECOO have launched the O5 HEV with a Super Hybrid System in the UAE, offering powerful performance and high efficiency. The new OMODA O5 is a five-seater SUV that packs a hi-tech cabin, new technology, and advanced safety systems.
OMODA O5 HEV: Engine specifications
Powering the new OMODA O5 is a 1.5-litre TGDI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol motor that is paired with a 1.8kWh self-charging battery. This powertrain is paired with a DHT or dedicated hybrid transmission, which delivers a combined output of 224 bhp and 295 Nm.
The O5 HEV is a front-wheel-drive SUV, and it can sprint 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. It has a top speed of 175 km/h. OMODA claims 4.9L/100km or 20.48 km/l of fuel economy for the O5. It can deliver a maximum range of 1,000 km on a full tank of fuel.
Exterior details
The OMODA O5 features a sleek and futuristic design on the outside. It features a sporty roofline with an upright stance. The fascia gets a wider grille, vertical LED headlights, and stretched-out daytime running LED lights.
The side profile features a prominent bodyline, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone roof and mirrors. At the rear, it packs a raked windshield with sharp LED connected taillights and a sporty bumper.

Interior and features
The interior of the OMODA O5 HEV packs a five-seater configuration. The overall layout is spacious and offers a premium feel with soft-touch materials.
The dashboard packs a dual 12.3-inch connected display for the driver cockpit and central infotainment screen. It features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Sony sound system, wireless phone charging, a 540-degree surround-view camera, electric driver seat adjustment, front seat ventilation, panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, etc.
Safety features include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, brake assist, electronic parking brake, under-chassis view, and ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, front collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, etc.
OMODA O5: UAE price and availability
The new OMODA O5 HEV will be retailed by Galadari Motors in the UAE. Its official price list is yet to be announced. Customers can check for delivery schedule and trim-wise prices with their nearest dealerships.
