Sharjah parking rates have been updated from July 1, 2026. The new update has increased the parking time limit for visitors and seasonal parking subscribers across the region. Check out the new timings, rates, ways to pay, and more details below.
Sharjah Parking Rules 2026: What is new?
The latest update in the Sharjah parking system is the revised and extended parking timing. Sharjah authorities have extended the parking time from 8 AM till midnight from July 1, 2026, across Sharjah City, Al Dhaid, and Khorfakkan.
The new parking update specifically affects the parking spaces with yellow signs. Their timings have been brought in line with the blue sign zones, which were previously under chargeable limits till midnight.
Meanwhile, the parking spaces remain free on Friday and on public holidays, save for the locations under the chargeable limit on weekdays and holidays.
What about the Seasonal Parking Subscribers?
While the extended parking timing will surely benefit the visitors, the seasonal parking subscribers, like the residents, will now receive two hours of additional parking every day under their ‘daily parking package’. Their everyday parking timing has now been extended to 16 hours from 14 hours.
The extended parking time for subscribers will benefit from the additional 2 hours of parking time, which will make it hassle-free to use the parking spaces in the future.
How to pay for parking in Sharjah?
There are various methods to pay for parking in Sharjah. SMS is the simplest way for visitors, as it allows them to activate the parking permit directly from their mobile phone. Other options include:
- Public parking meters
- Digital Sharjah app (link)
- Pre-paid parking cards
- Parking subscription
To pay for parking via SMS, send an SMS to <5566> using the format: Plate source + Plate number + parking hours.
Sharjah Parking 2026 rates
The new rates for parking in Sharjah in 2026 are as follows:

Mind you, motorists need to pay an additional 0.38 fils if they pay for the parking via SMS.
When is parking free in Sharjah?
As per the new parking rules in Sharjah, vehicle owners can park without paying from midnight (12 AM) to 8 AM. However, a parking fee is applicable from 8 AM to midnight.
It is important to note that free parking depends on the parking space and type of location. On Fridays and public holidays, parking is free.
Meanwhile, yellow signs will now operate till midnight under the new parking rules, bringing them in line with the blue sign zones.
